Nerdeen Kiswani
Nerdeen Kiswani [Nerdeen Mohsen] is an anti-Israel and pro-terror activist leader in New York, New York.
Nerdeen Kiswani was arrested at a pro-Hamas rally in January 2024. Kiswani has also called for the death of Zionists and for Israel’s destruction as the chairperson of Within Our Lifetime (WOL), an anti-Israel activist group in New York City.
Kiswani has glorified intifada, honored terrorists and expressed [00:38:24] support for terrorism. She has spread hatred of Zionists and spread [00:00:01] hatred of America and Israel, disrupted multiple New York City Council meetings and reportedly silenced victims of sexual assault.
Nerdeen Kiswani participated in the pro-Hamas encampment at Columbia in April 2024.
Kiswani is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
In 2021, Kiswani was the president of the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) (CUNY Law SJP).
Kiswani was a co-founder and chair of New York City SJP (NYC SJP). In February 2018, NYC SJP was renamed to WOL. Kiswani was also the vice president and former president of SJP at Hunter College (Hunter) and at the College of Staten Island (CSI), both part of CUNY.
In September 2023, Kiswani was listed as the Al-Awda Youth Representative in New York.
In September 2023, Kiswani’s Facebook said she had studied at CUNY School of Law from 2018 to 2022. Kiswani’s LinkedIn profile said she graduated from CUNY with a bachelor’s degree in human rights and international relations in the Middle East in 2016. Kiswani received a bachelor’s degree from Hunter and CSI in 2016.
In May 2021, Kiswani said [00:08:23] she was indefinitely banned from entering Israel.

Arrested at a Pro-Hamas WOL Rally
On January 26, 2024, Kiswani was arrested at a pro-Hamas WOL protest in New York City, titled: “Flood AIPAC, Elbit and Friends of the IDF for Gaza.”WOL’s title for the rally invoked the name Hamas gave its October 7, 2023 terror attacks, which it called “Al-Aqsa Flood,” referring to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
The rally took place after Hamas terror atrocities and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. The terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
Following clashes with the police, Kiswani and several anti-Israel protesters were taken [00:01:20] into police custody and reportedly released.
Calling for the Death of Zionists and Destruction of Israel
Kiswani added [00:09:05]: “Abolishing Israel is the key to peace.”
On May 8, 2021, Kiswani played [00:12:08] the song “Odrob Odrob Tel Aviv [Strike A Blow At Tel Aviv]” at a WOL rally in Brooklyn.
“Odrob, Odrob, Tel Abib” [Strike a Blow at Tel Aviv] is an anti-Semitic, Arabic-language song that celebrates rocket attacks against Israel. It was released in 2012 during Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense (OPD) against Hamas. The song was originally accompanied by images of injured Israelis [00:00:15] and rockets ready to be launched [00:00:42, 00:02:01].
Kiswani told [00:16:09] protesters: “You know the song is about resistance…Join us. Join our resistance. Go out and protest. Go out and humiliate Israel for their crimes. This is what the resistance in Palestine is asking of us.”
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
On June 11, 2021, Kiswani featured in a Youtube video at a Strike MoMA march, part of10 weeks of protests outside of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA). Strike MoMA personally targeted Jewish MoMA board of trustees members specifically for their Israel activism or business ties to Israel.
In the video, Kiswani said [00:00:49]: “We marched today, we took over the streets and we visited multiple Zionist settler foundations. Multiple. We let them know we know where they’re at. We know where they work. We’re gonna find out more about where they’re at too. And we’re gonna go after them.”
On July 31, 2021, after fireworks were lit at a WOL rally, Kiswani told [01:02:43] the crowd: “I hope that a pop-pop is the last noise that some Zionists hear in their lifetime!”
On August 26, 2021, Kiswani participated in a webinar where shesaid [00:28:08]: “It’s important to recognize why we have to be anti-Zionist…the liberation of Palestine necessitates the abolition of Zionism.”
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.
On December 31, 2021, Kiswani reportedly posted on Instagram a photo of herself holding a lighter to an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) sweatshirt.
On March 30, 2022, Kiswani led [01:05:01] a WOL rally, a video of which was published on YouTube on April 3, 2022.
In the video, Kiswani said [01:05:01]: “We will settle for nothing less than every single inch of a liberated Palestine, from the River to the Sea with the ‘right of return’ for every single Palestinian refugee to their original homeland and all of Palestine.”
Kiswani continued: “Not just in Gaza or the West Bank or Al Quds [Jerusalem] but in ‘48 [Israel], every inch of Palestine. This is why we chant, ‘we don’t want two states, we want ‘48, we want all of it’ because all of it belongs to us. All of the land.”
On March 3, 2017, Kiswani posted to Instagram: “Israel must be annihilated.”
Glorifying Intifada
“Globalize the Intifada” is an anti-Israel campaign launched by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) in the summer of 2021, intended as an “ongoing strike at the heart of empire with Palestine as its compass.” The movement seeks to “break free from the genocidal grip of U.S. imperialism and Zionism” and advocates “liberation by any means necessary.”
In a video WOL Palestine posted to its Instagram account, Kiswani led protesters in chanting [00:00:34]: “5-6-7-8 smash the settler state” and [00:00:07]: “There is only one solution, Intifada revolution,” as well as [00:00:24]: “Intifada, Intifada! Long Live the Intifada!”
The second intifada (2000-2005) was characterized by more than 120 suicide bombings targeting Israeli civilians on buses and in cafes.
Honoring Terrorists
On January 26, 2022, Kiswani shared to Facebook a WOL post glorifying PFLP founder George Habash. The post concluded by saying: “His legacy rests in the work we do today to smash the settler Zionist state and free Palestine from the river to the sea.”
George Habash, who has been called “the godfather of Middle East terrorism,” was the founder of the terrorist organization the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the mastermind behind the 1970 Dawson Field hijackings.
Support for Terrorists
Kiswani encouraged celebrations of the murders, writing: “While Palestinians and ‘allies’ in the west scramble to condemn, apologize, explain, hide, rationalize, etc what happened this morning, Palestinians in Palestine are giving out sweets in celebration. I will not hide from this. I will not be ashamed or embarrassed by this. These celebratory actions are what keep the resistance moving forward, they are what keep it alive.”
Hatred of Zionists
Hatred of America and Israel
On July 4, 2021, Kiswani featured [00:00:01] in an Instagram video where she joined in chants at a rally that WOL co-organized in Brooklyn intended to “redirect the false pride of American Independence Day to pride in our resistance…”
The next day, a Twitter video from the rally showed [00:00:01] protesters burning American and Israeli [00:00:20] flags, while WOL activist Abdullah Akl could be heard [00:00:03] leading the crowd in several chants.
Accusations of Silencing Sexual Assault Victims
The statement also condemned Kiswani and Rawan Toom, identified specifically by Brown SJP as NYC SJP’s leadership, for “explicit silencing” of one victim and for actions evidencing “a disgusting disdain to the lives and opinions of these survivors.”
Disrupting City Council Meetings
On September 8, 2016, Kiswani and other NYC SJP members repeatedly disrupted an NYC City Council meeting discussing anti-BDS legislation, prompting security personnel to escort the agitators from the hall.
Participation in the Pro-Hamas Encampment at Columbia University

The post said: “Alf Mabrook to Nerdeen Kiswani who attended last night’s protest… straight from her wedding earlier in the night.”
On April 23, 2024, Kiswani was featured [00:21:28] in a video uploaded to YouTube by LLN NYC titled: “4th Night of Palestine Protests at Columbia University NYC 4.21.24.”
The video showed Kiswani leading [00:21:29] protesters in a responsive chant at a WOL protest held outside the gates of Columbia.
Kiswani chanted [00:21:54]: “...We must escalate! The genocide is far from over! From the beginning, we said a cease-fire is not enough! An end to the genocide is not enough!...”
Kiswani also chanted [00:22:35]: “...This is why our demands must be nothing less than a complete end to the siege and blockade of Gaza! And to the occupation of all of Palestine! And to the colonization of all Arab land! And freedom for Palestine! From the River to the Sea! And I don’t say just Palestinians, I say Palestine, because every single inch of it from Haifa to Yaffa to Akka, it’s Palestinian land!...”
Kiswani continued [00:24:18]: “...We are at a pivotal moment! All eyes on Columbia! All eyes on encampments everywhere! Give your support! Night and Day! Everything you have! From wherever you are!...When you have to leave call another shift in! I just came from my wedding!”
Kiswani concluded [00:26:02]: “...We should all risk suspension! We should all risk getting fired!...”
On April 17, 2024, Columbia students and anti-Israel activists set up a pro-Hamas “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on the university's main lawn. Many participants were arrested and the encampment featured multiple violent incidents, including taking over a campus building and taking a university worker hostage.
Activists protested Israel’s war against Hamas and demanded that Columbia “divest from companies and institutions that profit from Israeli apartheid, genocide and occupation…”
WOL
Within Our Lifetime (WOL) is a pro-terror activist group in New York City dedicated to Israel’s destruction within the lifetime of its members.Acts of violence and physical confrontations with police have frequently occurred at WOL protests and marches. WOL uses harassment campaigns to target pro-Israel organizations or companies that do business with Israel, making it a part of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Multiple activists who have either burned Israeli flags or led chants at WOL rallies were later jailed for violent anti-Semitic hate crimes, including Saadah Masoud and Waseem Awawdeh. In Masoud’s case, he received 18 months in jail for an anti-Semitic assault at an April 2022 WOL rally and two other anti-Semitic assaults in 2021.
WOL promotes “resistance” against Israel “by any means necessary,” calls to “Globalize the Intifada,” spreads incitement and idolizes [00:34:06] Palestinian terrorists like Leila Khaled and others at rallies and online events.
WOL was founded by Nerdeen Kiswani and Dan Cione in 2015. Kiswani is a frequent speaker at WOL rallies where she has promoted terrorism against Israelis and called for the death of Zionists. She has also provided support for Masoud and other activists following their arrests.
WOL began as the New York City chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), going by NYC SJP, but changed its name in 2018. The group is not found to be registered in any U.S. state as a nonprofit organization under its official name. Nor is there any listing for WOL under its name on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for tax-exempt organizations.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Student Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
