Parsa Nowruzi [Parsa Hosseini] has expressed support for terrorists and was an activist with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Stanford University (Stanford). On April 14, 2016, he indicated on Facebook that he “went ” to the SJP West Conference. SJP West is a “coalition of West Coast SJP chapters.”
As of February 2019, Nowruzi was listed as a student at Stanford studying Social and Cultural Anthropology, slated to graduate in 2019.
As of January 2019, Nowruzi usedthe alias “Parsa Hosseini” on Facebook.
Support for Terrorists
On May 1, 2017, Nowruzi shared an image on Facebook in support of a Palestinian prisoners’ hunger strike. Nowruzi’s post included a list of demands made by the prisoners. On May 19, 2017, Nowruzi participated in a “Saltwater Challenge” with other Stanford SJP activists.
Anti-Israel Activism
The banner, displayed on the facade of Stanford’s Pigott Hall, read: “HANDS OFF JERUSALEM” and protested the U.S.’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. In its Facebook post, SJP Stanford claimed that the U.S. was supporting an Israeli effort to “ethnically cleanse Jerusalem of its Palestinians… and displace Jerusalem’s Palestinians.”
The post went on to say: “As Stanford students, it is our responsibility to acknowledge the role of the U.S. in the military occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Jerusalem is and will always be Palestinian.”
In December 2017, Nowruzi signed and promoted on Facebook a petition to stop President Donald Trump from recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The petition was titled:” Jerusalem must remain the capital of Palestine.”
On December 7, 2017, Nowruzi wrote on Facebook: “Al-Quds (Jerusalem) is the capital of Palestine.”
On July 30, 2017, Nowruzi indicated on Facebook that he “went” to a “Summer Skill Share Retreat for Palestine Student Activists” organized by SJP at the University of California Riverside (UCR).
The event organizers advertised the event on Facebook as a “4-day summer retreat” for “incoming board members” of anti-Israel groups, including SJP, JVP and the US Campaign for Palestinian Right (USCPR) “to build up skills and learn from each other in preparation for the 2017-2018 academic year of campus organizing.”
The Facebook event page also said: “Students who are pursuing, hope to pursue, or have completed a boycott and/or divestment campaign, and students interested in intersectional coalition building are especially encouraged to apply!”
On April 18, 2017, Nowruzi promoted a flier on Facebook for Palestine Awareness Week (PAW) organized by Stanford SJP. PAW was formerly known as Israel Apartheid Week (IAW).
Promoting an Anti-Israel Activist
On November 28, 2018, Nowruzi urged his Facebook followers to vote for Reem Assil for the Eater Awards “Chef of the Year.” Nowruzi described Assil as an “overall incredible and inspiring human being” and added: “Her restaurant is a place where she builds community and brings people together over Arab food.”
Reem Assil is a BDS activist who runs a bakery in Oakland, California called “Reem’s California.” Assil’s bakery prominently features a controversial mural of terrorist Rasmea Odeh.
Odeh was a military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), an internationally designated terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a bombing that killed two university students in a Jerusalem supermarket. Odeh also attempted to bomb the British consulate.
In February 2019, Assil was listed as an activist with the Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC). In 2014, Assil participated in an AROC-organized initiative called “Block the Boat,” which sought to stop an Israeli cargo ship from docking in the San Francisco Bay.
Organizing the 2018 National SJP Conference
On October 28, 2018, Nowruzi promoted the 2018 National SJP Conference on Facebook and “officially” launched the conference logo, which featured a keffiyeh-wearing bear looking up at birds and a kite bearing the colors of the Palestinian flag.
In his Facebook post, Nowruzi described the logo as: “The California Bruin Bear, the kites to signify the power in the Gaza March of Return, the Kuffiyeh, and the birds of freedom leading our way with radical hope towards liberation for all and a Free Palestine.”
The Great Return March of 2018 was organized and funded by the terror group Hamas as a campaign of violent protests along Israel’s border to spotlight the demand of Palestinians to “return” to Israel.
Tens of thousands of rioters gathered on Israel’s Gaza border, attempting numerous breaches of Israel’s border fence, with leaders andparticipants declaring their intention to harm Jews.
March of Return participants and Hamas’s “Kite Unit” have sent hundreds of kites bearing incendiary devices and IEDs (improvised explosive devices) across the border into Israel to terrorize Israelis. The kites are often marked with swastikas.
By the time National SJP produced its 2018 conference logo highlighting the kites in October 2018, Gazan terror kites and balloons had ignited more than 1,300 fires in Israel over seven months.
On November 22, 2018, Nowruzi posed in a Facebook photo of National SJP Conference steering committee members.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
