Salsabeel Allan
Overview
Salsabeel Allan is a member of the New York City (NYC) chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) (NYC SJP). She was also a member of the Muslim Students Association (MSA).
Allan is a 2016 graduate of the College of Staten Island (CSI), part of the City University of New York (CUNY) with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She is also a Peer Advising Leader at CSI.
Radically Anti-American
On November 19, 2015 Allan identified the U.S. with the Islamic State (ISIS), claiming that "they are one and the same."
On November 27, 2015 Allan claimed the U.S. always supports Israel "cuz they can relate to the genocidal extermination of an indigenous people #happythanksgiving."
Dressing Anti-Semitism as Anti-Zionism
On August 20, 2015 Allan — demonizing Israel in a display of modern anti-Semitism — tweeted that "just like the Nazis are exterminating the Jews...Israelis are exterminating the Palestinians..."
On November 9, 2015, Allan retweeted the blood libel “The Israeli government runs in Palestinians' homes randomly and will kidnap someone and burn their whole house down just because.”
On December 18, 2015, Allan tweeted — fraudulently — that "Israel persecutes Christians." Allan’s tweet featured an image that portrayed people dressed in Santa Claus outfits, consorting with stone-throwers for a photo-opp, as “Christians”, generally — and Israeli police presence as a “persecution.”
On November 15, 2015, Allan intimated that ISIS is a friend of Israel’s — urging those who follow her Twitter feed to "think about" why ISIS hasn’t attacked Israel.
On October 5, 2015, Allan responded to Jeb Bush’s call for “Prayers for more Israeli victims of Palestinian terror. Israel has a right to defend itself from these attacks and we should stand with them.” Allan retweeted: “Eat a d*ick”
Allan’s Twitter feed is also replete with postings insinuating that the Jewish national homeland has no history or culture.
On November 9, 2015 Allan retweeted a post snickering about an Israeli beauty contestant wearing a hoodie and Jeans because “your country [Israel] has “no culture.”
On December 21, 2015 Allan retweeted “when ur national costume is just the colors of your flag bc you have no culture.” On October 19, 2015 Allan retweeted a picture of Miley Cyrus wearing a large star of David, a symbol intimately associated with Judaism and Israel, captioned “TRASH WEARING TRASH.”
Supporting Suicide Bomber Recruiter Mohammad Allan
Allan is a first cousin and fervent supporter of Mohammad Allan.
Allan is a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a terror group “whose objective is the destruction of the State of Israel and the establishment of a sovereign, Islamic Palestinian state.” Allan was first jailed by Israel in 2006 for trying to recruit a suicide bomber to carry out an attack in Israel. He was detained in 2014 for similar reasons. PIJ is backed by Iran and has killed dozens of Israelis in suicide bombings and other attacks.
Mohammed was first jailed by Israel in 2006 for trying to recruit a suicide bomber to carry out an attack in Israel. The New York Times cited the former head of Israel’s domestic security, who suggested that Mr. Allan was detained in 2015 for similar reasons.
On August 18, 2015, Allan’s family, in conjunction with NYC SJP, organized a rally outside the United Nations on August 18th. Salsabeel’s sister, Islam Allan, gave a speech demanding Mohammed’s immediate release, saying “he is making all of us so proud.” Salsabeel Allan’s father, Ziad Allan also gave an impassioned speech at the rally condemning the United States and Israel, saying “Israel is the only state on Earth that the laws of humanity does not apply to whatsoever.” The following day, the Allan family held an inflammatory anti-Israel protest in Brooklyn, New York.
Inciting Violence
Allan expressed her support for terrorism and violence against Israeli citizens, retweeting approval for a rally in New York to show solidarity with the October 6, 2015 Palestinian “Day of Rage”. The rally was co-sponsored by a number of Israel-hating organizations including NY4Palestine, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and NYC SJP and urged support for a “Day of Rage” called for by “Palestinian forces.”
So-called “Days of Rage” in October of 2015 — heralded byd the terror group Hamas as the advent of a new Intifada — directly resulted in the deaths of Israeli civilians by shootings and stabbings and car rammings.
Protesters at the rally alternately screamed slogans “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, “Long Live the Intifada! Intifada! Intifada!” and “Settler settler go back home, Palestine is ours alone!"
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
On October 14, 2015 Allan tweeted images of masked Palestinian women throwing rocks and shooting slingshots, writing “Look at these women. We should all strive to have a fraction of their strength and courage. #FreePalestine”
NYC SJP - Blaming Zionists for Tuition Hikes
On November 12, 2015, NYC SJP members participated in the Million Student March, a national movement protesting the cost of college tuition and debt. When NYC SJP announced its participation, it released a statement blaming the “Zionist administration” for the tuition hikes.
According to the U.S. State Department’s definition of anti-Semitism, blaming “Zionists” for larger societal problems and political tensions is an unequivocal act of anti-Semitism.
Video footage from the CUNY march show students chanting “Long live the intifada,” and “Zionist’s out of CUNY.”
Other footage (0:23) shows Allan and her sister arguing with a police officer after he tells her to leave private property.
In August 2015, Allan participated in a YouTube video (0:24) that was used to raise funds for NYC SJP to travel to San Diego State University for the National SJP conference, which took place in October, 2015.
NYC SJP - Exploiting Feminism to Glorify Terrorism
On March 5, 2016, NYC SJP shared an event and blog post on Facebook to “commemorate International Working Women’s Day as an inseparable aspect of the fight for Palestinian liberation.”
NYC SJP’s blog post announcing the event spread the blood libels that "Israel is a state that was built on the murder and rape of Palestinian women" and that “the state forces women to give birth at checkpoints, where more than half of the babies died as a result.”
The event description, excerpted from the blog post, slammed Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir for "colonizing Palestinian land through zionist Ideology", and praised International hijacker Leila Khaled for “committing her life to be a freedom fighter in the struggle for Palestinian liberation.”
Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.
The blog post concluded "Smash the Patriarchy! Smash the Settler Zionist State! Free Palestine, and Free Women EVERYWHERE!"
NYC SJP - Praised by a Terrorist Organization
On October 9, 2015, the Progressive Student Labor Front (PSLF) in Gaza — an organization politically linked to the PLFP — issued a statement via the PFLP website showing solidarity with their “comrades,” NYC SJP.
The statement praised NYC SJP for leading “a march through the streets of New York calling for ‘Intifada’ and the liberation of Palestine…” The statement went on to say: " We urge the development and escalation of BDS campaigns at an international level just as we urge the escalation of resistance in all forms and all means here in Palestine ...." and ended with an affirmation that the PSLF is “proud to call them [NYC SJP]...comrades in the struggle for the liberation of Palestine.”
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
MSA
The MSA was established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."
The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.
The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
