Alex Vitale
Alex Vitale [Alex S. Vitale] has spread hatred of the police as the coordinator of The Policing and Social Justice Project.
As of January 2026, he was a member of the transition team for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, serving on the Community Safety Committee.
Mamdani has called for dismantling capitalism and promoted hatred of the police. He has also justified Hamas terrorism and glorified terror supporters. On his first day as mayor, he revoked executive orders designed to combat antisemitism, including increased police protection at synagogues, and nullified a ban on city officials to boycott Israel.
Alex Vitale has also spread hatred of Israel and Zionists, as well as engaged in anti-Israel activism.
The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas.
In November 2025, Vitale participated in a panel hosted by the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, known as NYC-DSA.
Mamdani's anti-America and far-left activist network, which includes the DSA, helped him win the 2025 Democratic Party primary. He won the general election in November 2025.
DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. Notable members are activist Linda Sarsour and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
As of January 2026, Vitale's LinkedIn said he was a professor at The Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York (CUNY GC). His LinkedIn also said he worked as a professor of sociology at Brooklyn College (BC).
As of the same date, Vitale's LinkedIn said he had been the coordinator at The Policing and Social Justice Project since 2015. The project is based at BC and his LinkedIn said he was located in Brooklyn, New York.
