Siraj Ahmed
Siraj Ahmed is a professor who expressed support for the Hamas terror group at a November 2023 event at the City University of New York (CUNY).
The incident occurred following a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.
The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron,” which was going on when Ahmed made his comments in support of Hamas.
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

Ahmed was affiliated with the anti-Israel group Within Our Lifetime (WOL) in July 2023.
As of December 3, 2023, Ahmed was listed online as an executive officer and professor of English at the Graduate School and University Center of CUNY (CUNY Graduate Center) in Manhattan, New York City. His “Research Interests” were listed as “Enlightenment, postcolonial studies, critical theory, comparative literature.”
As of the same date, Ahmed was also listed online as a professor in the English Department at Lehman College (Lehman), which is part of CUNY and located in The Bronx, New York City.
As of the same date, Ahmed’s LinkedIn profile said he had been teaching at the CUNY Graduate Center since 2014 as a professor in the “PhD Program in English.” He had also been teaching at Lehman since 2011 in the “Department of English and Program in Comparative Literature.”
Ahmed’s LinkedIn said he received his PhD in “English and Comparative Literature” from Columbia University (Columbia), also located in New York, New York.
