The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

Brendan O'Connor also participated in at least one Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) event in 2017 in New York City, organized by the city’s DSA chapter (NYC-DSA).

NYC-DSA is an anti-American and anti-Israel activist group. It celebrated the Hamas terror attacks of October 7, 2023, by holding a rally the next day.

As of September 2025, Brendan O'Connor's LinkedIn profile said he was studying for a PhD in geography at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY GC), slated to graduate in 2027. His LinkedIn said he was located in New York, New York.
