Saadia Toor
Saadia Toor has spread anti-Semitism, expressed support for Hamas terrorism, denied Hamas war crimes and spread hatred of Zionists. She is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Toor's activism and social media posts took place during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war, called called “Swords of Iron,” after a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings. The atrocities were executed on October 7, 2023, and left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.
In October 2024, Toor was listed as a campus security authority for the pro-terror campus group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the City University of New York's (CUNY) College of Staten Island (CSI) (CSI SJP). She was also an activist with CSI SJP in 2014 and 2015.
Toor is a founding member of and an organizer [00:00:30] with the anti-Israel group CUNY 4 Palestine.
As of February 2025, Toor was listed as an associate professor of women's and gender studies at the CUNY Graduate Center (CUNY GC) and at CUNY CSI.
CUNY is located in New York, New York.
On July 27, 2024, Toor posted on X: "...You’re supporting a genocidal murderous settler colonial state project. European Jews had no right to move to Palestine, terrorise the local population and take over land to establish a state..."
One way that anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is to claim [00:06:46] that Jews, particularly Ashkenazi Jews, do not descend from the ancient Israelites. This claim alleges that Jews are white Europeans who lack a connection to the Land of Israel.
On April 21, 2024, Toor posted on X: "Lmao [laugh my a** off] - so much ‘antisemitism’ everywhere." Her post included screenshots listing schools under investigation for anti-Semitism.
On January 6, 2024, Toor posted on X: "The actual problem is that palestine is not ‘the ancestral homeland’ for european jews even if that’s the belief. Correct me if I’m wrong but we would not have this issue if a homeland for european jews (since zionism is a european ideology) was established in Europe."
On December 27, 2023, Toor posted on X, referring to Israelis: "Nazis indoctrinated their young people the same way."
On December 26, 2023, Toor posted on X: "...There were Palestinian Jews in Palestine before the f**king European Zionists came to steal the land for their theocratic settler colonial project. Jesus was a Palestinian Jew & a refugee."
On November 17, 2023, Toor posted on X: "Funny, none of my Jewish comrades feel unsafe or under attack right now except from zionists in the streets and zionists in powerful positions in their communities, workplaces and governments."
Toor's post included a screenshot of a post that said: "Whatever their views on Gaza people need to understand that many in the Jewish community are frightened and feel attacked right now. They are hurting and hoping that as an act of solidarity many will attend the demonstration against antisemitism on the 26th."
On November 6, 2023, Toor posted on X, referring to Israel's war against Hamas terrorists: "It is not the kind of clinical bureaucratic mass murder undertaken by the Nazis, horrific as that was - it is something far worse. A darkness of the soul far more blood-curdling and bone-chilling than anything we have witnessed in modern history."
Anti-Israel activists compare Israel to Nazi Germany to insinuate that the plight of Palestinians has eclipsed Jewish suffering during the Holocaust.
On October 7, 2023, Toor posted on X: "All out for Palestinian liberation!!" and shared a post by the pro-terror activist group Within Our Lifetime (WOL) that said: "...NYC Emergency Rally for Gaza: ALL OUT on Indigenous Peoples' Day 10/9 @ 2pm as we mobilize to defend the heroic Palestinian resistance, honor our martyrs and let the world know that NYC stands with Gaza!..."
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
Also on October 7, 2023, Toor posted on X: "This is a terrible statement that refuses to recognize the fact that Palestinians are either prisoners in their own land or exiled from it. #ByAllMeansNecessary." Her post was in response to a statement that condemned Hamas's terror attacks on Israel.
Anti-Israel activists use the phrase “by any means necessary,” as one of multiple euphemisms for terrorist violence, including “resistance.”
On October 14, 2023, Toor posted on X: "Please read our response to @ChancellorCUNY ’s horrendous statement." Her post linked to a statement by CUNY 4 Palestine that said [p. 3]: "...we stand firmly in support of the Palestinian people and their right to resistance, return and liberation...We affirm: / The right of Palestinians to resistance, including armed resistance, as they face the violence of colonization, occupation, apartheid and genocide..."
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel.
On October 28, 2023, Toor posted on Instagram a video from a protest showing anti-Israel activists chanting: "Intifada, intifada, long live the intifada." Toor captioned the post: "Viva viva Palestina."
The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation.
Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, approximately 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.
A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.
For more information on the October 7, 2023 terror attacks, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
On October 25, 2024, Toor posted on X: "They’re busy peddling the ‘hamas mass rape’ propaganda."
On October 7, 2023, Hamas raped both women and men. Some were raped and murdered or mutilated. Hamas terrorists said they were given explicit orders to carry out those atrocities on both live victims and corpses.
On October 23, 2024, Toor posted on X: "...@KamalaHarris @VP keeps repeating the hasbara [Israel advocacy] lies about mass rapes by resistance fighters on Oct 7..."
Denial of the Hamas war crimes of October 7, 2023, among anti-Israel activists has been likened to Holocaust denial among neo-Nazis.
On October 22, 2024, Toor posted on X, referring to the Israeli victims of Hamas' terror attacks: "...You do know that they died at Israel’s hands..."
On April 8, 2024, Toor posted on X: "Gaza is a snuff film for these depraved zios."
The term "Zio" is a common derogatory reference to Zionists, as well as an often-used anti-Semitic slur among white supremacists.
On December 18, 2023, Toor posted on X: "There are no words left for the crass and shameless inhumanity of Israel and its supporters."
SJP is the leading student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses. The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian, who has spread anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campus campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks and pushing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, and SJP chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for terrorists.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
