Jana Kadah
Overview
Jana Kadah has called for the elimination of the State of Israel, spread conspiracy theories and promoted hatred of Israel.
Kadah was the outreach coordinator of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at San Jose State University (SJSU).. Kadah is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of September 2019, Kadah’s LinkedIn page said she was “S’19 Spartan Daily Managing Editor” and that she graduated from SJSU in 2019, with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government.
Calling for the Elimination of Israel
Kadah has called for the elimination of the State of Israel, posting that “the only way to give piece [sic] a chance is by getting rid of Israel and what it stands for.”On November 22, 2015, Kadah retweeted a tweet that said: “the sooner we can do away with Zionism, the better things will be in the Jewish community.”
On May 27, 2015, Kadah likened Zionism to Nazism with a Facebook photo showing her holding a sign that says: “The World stopped Nazism. The World Stopped Apartheid. The World MUST Stop Zionism.”
Spreading Conspiracy Theories
On March 20, 2014, Kadah accused the U.S. of planning Al-Qaeda’s September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks that killed over 3,000 Americans, posting that “most clues show that it was in fact not AL-Qaeda [sic], but the US government.”Kadah also denied that Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik committed the terror attack that murdered fourteen Americans in San Bernardino, California.
Kadah also said that: “Israel is the real terrorist. ...And by the way, look into 9/11 for the love of God...most clues show that it was in fact not AL-Queda, but the US government.”
Promoting Hatred of Israel
In December 2015, Kadah retweeted a tweet that said that Gaza is “the largest concentration camp in living times, created by Israel.”On May 26, 2015, Kadah postedon Facebook the claim that during Operation Protective Edge (OPE) in 2014, the “ceasefire has been broken more than 400 times by Israel,” ignoring that Hamas violated every ceasefire during the Gaza war and violated the open-ended ceasefire concluding the 2015 round another 35 times in 2015.
In the same post, Kadah implied that she considered Hamas terrorists to be innocent civilians, stating that “Israel destroyed Gaza and stole the lives in 2300+ civilians in the Gaza Offensive.” The 2,300 figure is an exaggerated one, unsubstantiated by any official report on the conflict.
Kadah also claimed: “Not a SINGLE home has been rebuilt since the ceasefire,” blaming Israel is the cause for slow rate of rebuilding in Gaza.
In March 2015, Kadah commented on an Al-Jazeera article that Israel is “A state founded on racist beliefs, killing every muslim/palestinian in site. Israel steals their homes without any permission. It is a genocide. And what about the Apartheid. Not only does Israel discriminate and murder muslims/arabs but also Africans...Its disgusting.”
On August 18, 2014, Kadah shared a video on Facebook that spread the libel that Israel steals water from Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza and that Israel targeted Palestinian water resources, as “collective Punishment.”
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
