Report on SPHR at McMaster University (December 2017)

In 2017, Canary Mission investigated anti-Israel activists at McMaster University from the student group Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR).

39 individuals who were involved with McMaster (Mac) SPHR were identified and profiled.

Research revealed 287 social media posts that were demonizing of Israel, anti-Semitic, pro-Hitler, pro-terrorist, desiring violence against Jews, inciting violence, bigoted and anti-American.

Mac SPHR president — Lina Assi —is an ardent supporter of the terrorist organization the Popular front for the Liberation of Palestinian (PFLP) and admires both Hamas and Hezbollah.

Of the openly anti-Semitic Mac SPHR students, the admiration for Hitler expressed by Rawan Qaddoura, Esra Bengizi and Nadera Masad is the most shocking.

Some of the examples include:

  • Rawan Qaddoura, who ran for president of SPHR, tweeted, “everytime I read about Hitler, I fall in love all over again.”
  • Esra Bengizi, a senior studying English and French, tweeted, “Where is hitler when u need one? I literally ask this every day.”
  • Nadera Masad, a senior studying Political Science and Government, tweeted, “hitler should have took you all.” She also tweeted, “Death to Israel and all Zionists” and “Death to America and white people.”
