Deanna Silmi

Overview

Deanna Silmi has demonized Jews on social media. Silmi has also expressed violent hatred for those opposing her anti-Israel politics. On July 20, 2014, Silmi tweeted: “Almost punch this dude in the facefor saying that Palestine belonged to the Jews like no don't bring that BS to me you'll get hit .”

Silmi has demanded the boycott of Jews. On July 10, 2014, Silmi tweeted: “If you buy anything supporting the Jewish during this month especially and your Muslim I'm judging you.”

Silmi was a student activist with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Cleveland State University (CSU) from 2015 - 2016.

Silmi graduated from CSU in May of 2016, with a degree in Criminology. Silmi applied to the Cleveland Heights Police Academy, and was looking for a job in a Police Department as of January 20, 2017.

On February 24, 2017, Silmi reported on Facebook, from Sandusky, OH, that she is employed at Planet Fitness.

Anti-Jewish Social Media Posts

On April 19, 2013, Silmi tweeted: "I just hate how stereotypical America is" adding: “against Muslims....... I mean look how America is heloing [sic.] the Jews cause terroist [sic.] attacks on Muslims everyday.”

On January 25, 2013, Silmi tweeted: "Im just really pissee dont talk to me about palestine and not know the fact america is helping the jews" adding: “@Xavier_Whiz no it was america giving the jews the resources to kill the palestinians.”

Israel Hatred

On June 16, 2015, Silmi referred to David Michael Blatt, the Cavaliers’ Israeli-American coach, tweeting: "David Blatt go to Hell this win was for Palestine you Zionist."

On March 17, 2015, Silmi tweeted: “I can't wait to see who wins this Israel prime minister race really doesn't matter though they're all equivalent to #Freepalestine.”

On July 2, 2014, Silmi tweeted: “I hate zionists with a raging passion .”

Demonizing Israel

On July 9, 2014 — during Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE)commenced the day before to stop Hamas rocket attacks targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels — Silmi tweeted approvingly about World Cup star Cristiano Rinaldo’s refusal to exchange his Jersey with an Israeli player: "@JakeHytner you're right he is a class act #FreePalestine #Doesntswitchjerseyswithmurderers"

Then, responding to a tweet that said: “so you're calling Israeli footballers murderers.. Sheesh,” Silmi replied: “we are calling israel in general murders he didn't want it Bc it had the Jewish flag on it.”

On July 8, 2014, Silmi tweeted: "I used to like @BarackObama my mistake screw him for helping fund the Jewish "defense" against millions of innocents #FreePalestine."

On July 10, 2014, Silmi tweeted: "Screw Obama and the 3 billion he gives every year to Israel congrats on being an accomplice to millions of murders of women and children."

On July 12, 2014, Silmi tweeted: “Lol @Casspi18 a f**king joke if he thinks and believes in his tweets Israel are the real terrorists #FIsrael #FreePalestine.”

On July 13, 2014, Silmi tweeted: ‘What is Gaza attacking Israel with rocks while they have rockets and missiles.”

On the same day, Silmi tweeted: “Really rockets from Gaza to Israel is that really what @BarackObama and the White House believe why don't you open ur eyes #FreePalestine.”

On August 3, 2014, Silmi tweeted: “The fact that this genocide is still going on when Israel has 100x the supplies Palestine does shows that the Heart is the greatest weapon.”

Likening Israel to Nazis

On February 28, 2013, Silmi tweeted: “This conversation about the Jews taking over Palestine <<<<< IDC just stop doing to us what Hitler did to you.”On November 19, 2012, Silmi tweeted: “Israel is doing to Palestine what Hitler did to the Jews there's no difference so why is it ok now #FreePalestine.”

Promoting Israel-Hatred

In March, 2016, Silmi hosted and promoted an SJP event featuring anti-israel poet Remi Kanazi — notorious for aggressively anti-Israel poetry and spoken-word performances.

On April 29, 2015, Silmi tweeted advertising a SJP-hosted event which advertised itself as "a time for you to ask any questions you may have regarding Zionism and Judaism" — urging people to: “Get educated on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict from a Jewish perspective.” The event featured Dovid Weiss of Neturei Karta to represent the the “Jewish perspective.” Neturei Karta is a marginal anti-Zionist fringe Jewish group, notorious for its delegation to an Iranian Holocaust denial conference in 2014.

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
