Abdullah Bahour

Overview

Abdullah Bahour is a member of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at UTK (UTK MSA). In April 2016, Bahour ran for the position of President of UTK MSA.

Bahour is a senior at the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK).

Mocking Jewish Holocaust Victims

On November 27, 2013, Bahour tweeted— "How do you get a Jewish girl's number? Roll her sleeves up."

Propagating the Libel that Jews Invented ISIS and Al Qaeda

On November 20, 2015, Bahour shared an anti-Semitic video on Facebook, vilifying Ashkenazi Jews — Jews who settled in Europe — as the creators of Nazism.

The headline of the video read "Humanity Against AshkeNAZI." The capitalized “A” in the middle of the word was shaped as a Star of David, a Jewish symbol, the “Z” was depicted as a Swastika and the “I” as the Hammer and Sickle, the symbol of Communism. The film then went on to claim that the notion of Islamist terrorism is actually an invention of the Jews, which they created to discredit Islam.

The video purported that the Islamist terrorist group, Islamic State (of Iraq and Syria), also known as ISIS, is a Jewish invention — and that its moniker is actually an acronym for "Israeli Secret Intelligence Service." Similar anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists have alleged that the soda company Pepsi is actually a zionist conspiracy and that its name — P-E-P-S-I — was composed by Zionists, as an acronym for the phrase “Pay Every Penny to Save Israel.”

The video then went on to claim that ISIS’ leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is Jewish and falsely claimed that former CIA employee Edward Snowden "released documents proving that" Bakr al-Baghdadi is actually an Israeli Mossad agent, named Simon Elliot. This claim, which originated with Iranian intelligence, was promptly exposed as a hoax by Snowden's lawyer, Ben Wizner. An investigative journalist, Glenn Greenwald, who helped break the story, in an article in the New Statesman stated : “It’s utter BS...Snowden never said anything like that and no [NSA] documents suggest it.”

The video sought to prop up the anti-Semitic lie, saying "... your Jewish masters in the U.S. especially, your terrorist senator, John McCain will not allow it to be publicized…" and adding: “It is time to round up and arrest the majority of U.S. congressmen, senators, politicians, bankers, wall street executives and corporate leaders. Because they are all guilty of treason.”

The film then sought to "show how the majority of the ‘muslim terrorist leaders" are actually Jewish and are masquerading as leaders of some sort of radical group only to sell you the propaganda right here in the media in the United States.”

The video misrepresented Adam Yahiye Gadahn (born as Adam Pearlman) — an American convert to Islam, who became a senior Al Qaeda operative — as part of a Jewish plot to smear Islam. Gadahn openly acknowledged his Jewish ancestry in an Al Qaeda video — in a disparaging manner.

The film then went on to mention that Gadahn’s grandfather was an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) board member and made an outrageous claim that the ADL "have been very much involved in covertly supporting a lot of these so-called American Nazi movements. In fact all the way back to WW2 there was this scandal where the head of the American Nazi party which had a total membership of like six… was arrested for embezzling from his sponsors… which turned out to be the ADL."

The film then claimed another Jewish-born convert to Islam was part of a fiendish Jewish conspiracy. New York born Joseph Leonard Cohen — born into a secular Jewish family — later turned to religion and studied in a Rabbinical academy in Israel, before returning to the U.S., where he later converted to Islam. After converting to Islam Cohen changed his name to Yousef Al-Khattab. Al-Khattab is a co-founder of a radical Islamist website titled Muslim Revolution.

The film showed images of Khattab before he converted to Islam, dressed as a Chassidic Jew and claimed he was "another manufactured front to try to convince Americans that Al Qaeda is actually here in the United States."

Portraying Terrorists as Innocent Victims

On October 14, 2015, Bahour shared video footage and shared an image on Facebook of 13-year old attempted-murderer Ahmad Manasra — lying wounded on the street, being screamed at by furious onlookers — following Manasra’s stabbing spree in Jerusalem.

The caption on the image Bahour shared inverted the entire story and read — fraudulently: "Murder in the holy land - Executed in cold blood by ‘Israel’ today! Stop this Zionist killing spree! Raise your voices!"

Ahmed Manasra (sometimes spelled Mansara) and his 15-year-old cousin Hassan went on a stabbing spree in Jerusalem on October 12, 2015, during the Knife Intifada. They critically wounded a 13-year-old boy and moderately wounded a 25-year-old man. The spree ended when police shot Hassan and a passing motorist hit Ahmed. Ahmed was taken to an Israeli hospital. He admitted to investigators: “I went there to stab Jews.” He was later tried and convicted on two counts of attempted murder.

MSA

The MSA was  established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
