Robert Wheldon

Wheldon’s criminal history in California includes both felony crimes and misdemeanors. He committed at least five felonies and eight misdemeanors dating back to 2010. Wheldon’s felonies include assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, grand theft, receiving stolen property, and bringing a controlled substance into prison.

On March 22, 2022, an injunction for a restraining order was filed against Wheldon for harassment in Thousand Oaks, California. David Alpert filed the injunction two weeks after he reportedly called 911 to report Wheldon’s activity (hanging a White Lives Matter banner over a highway overpass), confronted Wheldon, and documented Wheldon’s participation in the March 12, 2022 white supremacist “banner drop” action in that city.

On April 23, 2022, Wheldon and other WLM activists hung neo-Nazi and white supremacist banners from an overpass on Highway 55 in Costa Mesa, California. Wheldon also harassed [00:00:07] a counter-protester. He can be seen in the video wearing black pants, a light purple hoodie, a gray balaclava mask over his face, and sunglasses.

On April 23, 2022, Wheldon and other WLM activists hung two large banners with neo-Nazi and white supremacist slogans from an overpass on State Route 55 in Costa Mesa, California.

One banner said: “HONK IF WHITE LIVES MATTER.” Another sign displayed the “14 words” and read: “WE MUST SECURE THE EXISTENCE OF OUR PEOPLE AND A FUTURE FOR WHITE CHILDREN.”

The “14 Words” is a phrase created by infamous white supremacist David Lane.

The group was confronted by a group of local counter-protesters and reporters.

Costa Mesa police arrived at the scene and requested the signs be removed. In his interaction with the police, Wheldon acknowledged [00:00:13] that he was the one who had hung the banners on the overpass.

Police officers assisted the WLM activists with taking down their signs.

At the same rally, Wheldon harassed a reporter, calling her [00:00:07]: “Communist trash.”

On March 12, 2002, Wheldon and six other WLM members hung banners with white supremacist slogans from an overpass on U.S. Route 101 in Thousand Oaks, California. Wheldon also harassed [00:01:35, 00:01:45] and insulted [00:00:45, 00:01:05] a counter-protester.

Wheldon can be seen wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt with a white skull and the word RISE in white letters on a red background (the logo of the Rise Above Movement), with a grey face mask and red sunglasses, holding a cellphone filming the person filming him.

On March 12, 2022, Wheldon and six other White Lives Matter (WLM) members hung banners bearing white supremacist slogans from an overpass on U.S. Route 101 in Thousand Oaks, California. One banner can be seen from the back, with red lettering.

The group was confronted by one man who documented the action with his cellphone and posted the confrontation in two videos on Twitter. Wheldon responded by saying, “You’re a communist; you’re a disgusting pig communist [00:01:35] in the first video. In the second video, Wheldon said, “Where’d you crawl out from, Mexico? Go back. Go home. Get out of my country, invader! Get out of my country. You don’t belong here. [00:01:05].

On November 13, 2021, Wheldon and other GDL members hung three anti-Semitic banners from an overpass on Interstate 405 in Irvine, California, and performed Nazi salutes. Wheldon can be seen in the picture standing behind the White Lives Matter banner wearing a khaki military-style bucket hat, a skull mask and sunglasses.

On November 13, 2021, Wheldon and other GDL members hung two banners promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and bearing white supremacist slogans from an overpass on Interstate 405 in Irvine, California.

One banner said: “HONK IF WHITE LIVES MATTER.”

The third banner was placed [01:10:43] at the side of the embankment where the overpass slopes up the hill. The third sign said [01:11:46]: “STOP JEWISH SUPREMACY. MEDIA, BANKING, GOVERNMENT. NOTICING AKA ‘ANTISEMITISM’ IS A HEALTHY SOCIETY’S IMMUNE RESPONSE TO A PARASITIC INFECTION.”

At the rally, Wheldon along with other GDL activists performed [01:07:51] Nazi salutes while standing on the overpass.

Later that month, Wheldon, during a podcast hosted by a neo-Nazi leader Christopher Pohlhaus, n reference to the above action in Irvine, said [00:01:45]: “Yeah, I wanna keep going back there. That’s fun.”

On August 20, 2022, Wheldon helped organize the first joint fight event for the white nationalist movement in America, along with the Patriot Front (PF) and the Will2Rise (W2R) white supremacist groups, held in San Diego, California. As administrator of White Lives Matter (WLM), and leader of the SoCal Active Club, Wheldon fought in the ring and cheered on other fighters. In a video documenting this event, Wheldon can be seen bare-chested both in and out of the ring, with his identifying tattoos.

On August 20, 2022, Wheldon’s White Lives Matter and SoCal Active Club co-hosted and participated in the first novice boxing tournament in American nationalist history, attended by self-described white supremacists from across the country. T

The event was documented in “Birth of a New Frontier,” a video produced on December 30, 2022 by former Rise Above Movement leader and recently-extradited fugitive Robert Rundo from Media2Rise.com. The video flashes the words “white youth revolt,” “white unity,” and the slogan “action today, victory tomorrow.” In December 2024, Rundo was sentenced to two years in prison and two years of supervised release.

Wheldon and other members of WLM, PF, and W2R demonstrated their training as white warriors in boxing matches. Wheldon is seen as a fighter in the ring [00:09:01]. He is also seen cheering on other fighters [00:14:05, 00:15:58], and congratulating a SoCal Active Club member who won his fight [00:16:18].
