Med Students at Georgetown University Rallying Behind Hamas
Since Oct. 7, a group of medical students at Georgetown University have belied their commitment to the Hippocratic Oath by posting their support and justification for Hamas’ massacre of 1,200 Israelis, including women, children & babies, and the kidnapping of 240 others.
These future doctors have praised and lauded the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust.
One student, Nicole Olakkengil, told her fellow med students who refuse to "stand ... with the resistance" to "try entering a different field," declaring that "medicine is inherently political."
Some of these students are already working in Washington, D.C. area hospitals. One wonders how they treat their Jewish patients.
"These students have disqualified themselves from a career in medicine,” said Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, former assoc dean, UPenn School of Medicine, said they should be dismissed from Georgetown.
"There was a long and unfortunate history of physicians in the Nazi regime acting in the most vile and barbarous manner to support that hateful ideology. These students are mimicking that vileness,” Stanley Goldfarb, former assoc dean, UPenn School of Medicine
The following medical students at Georgetown are the worst offenders:
GEORGETOWN MEDICAL STUDENTS JUSTIFYING OCTOBER 7
Nicole Olakkengil
Nicole Olakkengil told her fellow med students that if they must stand with “the resistance,” i.e., Hamas. If they didn’t, she wrote, “try entering a different field.” She also denied that Hamas terrorists raped Israelis.
“...By saying Hamas represent different interests than the Palestinian people, you take their autonomy away. Violent retribution is inevitable in the struggle for resistance.” - Nicole Olakkengil, freebeacon.com, Dec 21 2023

Niyat Esaias
Niyat Esaias justified the Oct. 7 massacre by comparing Hamas terrorists to South Africans who were not labeled terrorists even though they “used violence to end apartheid.” Similarly, she says Haitians were not called terrorists when they “fought and won against their oppressors.” Esaias asked, “Is it fair to label individuals or groups as terrorists when they are fighting against oppression?”

THE DANGERS OF ANTISEMITIC DOCTORS
American society is used to its doctors being impartial care givers, dedicated to the best care of their patients. Doctors swear by the Hippocratic Oath that they “will follow that system of regimen which …. is consider[ed] for the benefit [of] … patients, and abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous.”
Unfortunately, the growing politicalization of academia has also reached the field of medicine, where, as also reflected in society at large, we are finding an insidious influx of antisemitism. This phenomen is truly dangerous for Jews and now for all those who support the state of Israel. The following two recent cases illustrate this precarious situation.
THE CASE OF LARA KOLLAB
The Federation of State Licensing Boards in its model legislation for state medical license boards lists many grounds for sanctioning medical licenses, including “the commission or conviction of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude or a felony, whether or not related to the practice of medicine.”
Students at Georgetown certainly fall into the category of exhibiting “moral turpitude” (depravity). There have been a number of cases of doctors failing to be licensed or having their licenses revoked for their moral character. One case in point:
In 2018, Canary MIssion exposed Lara Kollab, who was doing her residency at the Cleveland Clinic. Kollab had a prolific history of posting calls for violence against Jews, spreading antisemitism, trivializing the Holocaust and defending terrorist organizations, including Hamas.
Kollab compared Israel to Nazi Germany, spread antsemitic conspiracy theories and accused Israel of exploiting the Holocaust.
Some of the most offending sentiments expressed by Kolab included a tweet in which she vowed on Jan. 2, 2012, “... ill purposely give all the yahood [Jews] the wrong meds…”
The next year on May 4, 2013, she declared, “People who support Israel should have their immune cells killed so they can see how it feels to not be able to defend yourself from foreign invaders.”
In one tweet (Oct. 29, 2011), she opined, “ … zionists are the spawn of hitler.”
After being exposed by Canary Mission, in early January 2019, the Cleveland Clinic issued a statement that Kollab was removed from her residency “after the clinic was made aware of her social media posts.”
Kollab subsequently applied and was accepted for a residency at Kern Medical in Bakersfield, California. But by March 15, 2019, that offer was also recinded when Kern became aware of her history.
By July 2020, Kollab had signed a statement surrendering her medical license to the State Medical Board of Ohio with "consent to permanent revocation," and by August 2020, the State Medical Board of Ohio permanently revoked Kollab’s license.
The Case of Walid Khass
Walid Khass graduated from St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine was set to begin in June 2019 and was st to begin a pediatric residency at the New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital (NYP Brooklyn), where he had been “matched’ via the National Residency Matching Program.
In 2019, Khass’ social media posts went viral. Unbeknownst to his med school and future employers, Khass had a long history of vile antisemitic social media posts, including:
“OOTD [Outfit Of The Day]? - Israeli Blood …” (Twitter, Jul 31 2015)
“I HOPE EVERYONE OF YOU ISRAELI ZIONIST P**SY ASS MOTHERF**IN B**TARDS GETS EBOLA, ITS ALREADY IN TEL AVIV B**CHES.” Twitter, Oct 20 2014)
“ZIONISTS=F**K BOYS=P**SYS= BITCH ASS NIGGAS=P**SY MOTHERF**KERS=DUMBA**ES= TERRORISTS=KIDNAPPERS=WORLD DECIEVERS=A**HOLES=DEVILS=ZIONISTS” (Twitter, Aug 7 2014)
SGU subsequently put Khass on involuntary administrative leave and pulled him from his clinical rotations. NYP Brooklyn followed suit and dismissed Walid Khass from his residency.
Khass responded by filing a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of New York, Kings County against NYP Brooklyn and SGU School of Medicine, claiming breach of contract and infringement on his free speech rights. The suit demanded NYP Brooklyn immediately reinstate him and claimed damages in excess of $630,000 as well as triple damages, plus costs of suit and interest from July 2019.
The court ordered NYP Brooklyn to reinstate Khass after which the hospital appealed. Finally, on Feb. 15, 2023, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York (the highest court in New York) reversed the decision of the lower court.
