Nicole Olakkengil
Overview
Nicole Olakkengil is a medical student who expressed support for Hamas terrorism against Israeli civilians in late 2023, when she told classmates who didn’t express support for the terror group to “maybe try entering a different field” as “medicine is inherently political.” She has also called for Israel’s destruction and spread hatred of Israel, Zionism and America.
As of January 2024, Olakkengil’s LinkedIn profile said she had been an “M.D. Candidate” at Georgetown University (Georgetown) School of Medicine since August 2023.
Olakkengil is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Olakkengil wrote her posts following a series of Hamas terror atrocities and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.
The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
Hamas is a designated terrorist organization founded in 1987 that is dedicated to destroying Israel and killing Jews. Since 2001, Hamas has launched thousands of rockets at Israel and on October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped over 200 hostages, including children and the elderly.
Support for Hamas Terrorism against Israeli Civilians
Olakkengil reposted a January 15, 2025 post from X that said: Glory to the resistance, our martyrs, and the next generation of freedom fighters who will carry the torch of our struggle forward until liberation.” The post included a photo of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Among anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for terrorism and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
Yahya (Yehiya) Sinwar masterminded the October 7, 2023 terror attacks on Israel and had been a Hamas leader since the 1980s. Sinwar was nicknamed the “Butcher of Khan Younis” after he admitted to killing 12 suspected Palestinian “collaborators,” and was sentenced to four life terms in Israeli prison for crimes including the killing of two Israeli soldiers.
In 2011, Sinwar was released by Israel to Gaza following the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal and resumed his leadership role in Hamas. On October 17, 2024, the Israel Defense Forces eliminated Sinwar in Gaza.
Olakkengil re-posted a November 4, 2024 post from X that glorified Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar “as a martyr who fought and starved with his people.”
In an undated screenshot of one of Olakkengil’s posts, she wrote: “...By saying Hamas represent different interests than the Palestinian people, you take their autonomy away. Violent retribution is inevitable in the struggle for resistance.”
In her post, Olakkengil denied that Hamas terrorists committed rape and other sexual violence against Israeli victims. She wrote: “Use common sense that any instances of violence against children and (unproved) sexual violence is not in the interest of the Palestinian people and the actions of a random few, whereas it is systemic and deliberate when done by Israel.”

Olakkengil concluded her post: “Palestinians are not relying on the West to approve of their methods! They're reacting to the violence they ve experienced every day when it's all they've ever known. If you want the violence to stop, call for the end of the Israeli apartheid.”
The same post that Olakkengil shared included a graphic that read: “Supporting Palestinians but not supporting kHamas [sic] is supporting Palestinians as helpless victims who must remain caged in silence and greatful their coloniser hadn't cut their water supply or even worse bombed them to death.”
The same post that Olakkengil shared continued: “Ask yourselves, why do you feel the need to say you don’t support hamas? / Is it because Hamas is bad for Palestinians, or for Israelis? If you answer ‘for Palestinians’ then who told you it was? Was it the Palestinians that Hamas continues to be their only ongoing resistance group? an actually Palestinian native and fairly elected group.”
The same post that Olakkengil shared concluded: “No one gives a s**t about western morals or liberal rights and wrongs, it’s what got us in the cages we are in today…Stop sugar coating your support for Palestine it’s tatsting f**king bitter.”
In a screenshot of a separate undated Instagram post, Olakkengil wrote: “So many of you going into medicine have been quiet or outright supporting genocide. Medicine is inherently political and we have to stand with the oppressed and for the resistance. If not, re-evaluate why you're going into medicine and maybe try entering a different field.”

Calling for Israel’s Destruction
Olakkengil re-posted a December 2, 2024 post on X that said: “‘Ceasefire now’ is a good slogan but realistically we need more people to acknowledge that the state of Israel cannot be allowed to exist in this world anymore.”Hatred of Israeland Zionism
Olakkengil reposted a June 21, 2025 post on X that said: “absolute solidarity with iran and the resistance / the us and its zionist settler outpost must never be allowed to exist.” Olakkengil shared the post during the ongoing Israel-Iran war.
Olakkengil reposted a January 15, 2025 post on X referring to the January 15, 2025, Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement that said: “A ceasefire doesn't mean the genocide has ended, but rather that its pace has slowed. The Zionist entity is inherently genocidal & its incumbent upon those of us in solidarity to make that understood, sustain pressure & do all that we can to materially support those in Gaza.”
Olakkengil reposted a January 15, 2025 post on X that said: “A ceasefire deal could’ve been agreed on over a year ago, but israel wanted to kill as many Palestinians as possible and so they prolonged it. They think killing tens, if not hundreds, of thousand of Palestinians makes them the victor. But in reality it was their suicide.”
Olakkengil reposted a December 23, 2024 post on X that said: “The idea Israel is "losing its humanity" in Gaza is a Zionist argument that implies redeemability. A settler colony has no humanity. Israel was formed by systematic genocidal violence and has sustained itself through it ever since. It has no humanity and no soul to lose.”
Hatred of America
Olakkengil reposted a June 24, 2025 post on X that showed a smiling, sleeping cartoon character that was captioned: “How I sleep knowing NY is about to go full on jihadi Marxist.” Olakkengil shared the post on the same day Zohran Mamdani was projected to win the Democratic Party primary for the 2025 New York City mayoral election.
