Steve Dean participated in at least one Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) event in December 2023 in New York City, organized by the city’s DSA chapter (NYC-DSA).

NYC-DSA is an anti-American and anti-Israel activist group. It celebrated the Hamas terror attacks of October 7, 2023, by holding a rally the next day.

As of October 2025, Steve Dean’s LinkedIn profile said he had been the founder of Dateworking and an online dating consultant in the New York City Metropolitan area since November 2011. However, his LinkedIn also said he was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
