Jefferson Turcios
Jefferson Turcios [Jefferson Turcios Rivera] was arrested for hanging “wanted” posters targeting Jewish faculty at the University of Rochester (Rochester) in November 2024.
Jefferson Turcios was caught on school cameras in an action described by Rochester officials as anti-Semitic. He was later charged with damaging university property.
Turcios’s activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, called “Swords of Iron.” Israel launched the war after a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.

As of November 2024, Turcios’s LinkedIn profile said he has been pursuing a bachelor’s degree in brain and cognitive sciences and health, behavior and society, slated to graduate in 2026.
Turcios’s LinkedIn also said he was certified as a biomedical researcher, CITI Program Credential ID 58333123, issued September 2023 and expiring September 2026.
Turcios’s LinkedIn said he had worked part-time as a program assistant for the David T. Kearns Center at the University of Rochester from March 2022 through August 2024.
As of December 2024, Turcios’s second Instagram account indicated he owned “J’s Sweets & Treats” online dessert shop.
As of December 2024, Turcios was listed as a certified Spanish tutor originally from El Salvador offering lessons online, and said he was a “Pre-Med” student at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
