Margaret DeReus
Margaret DeReus [Margaret Zaknoen DeReus] is the executive director of Peace, Accountability, and Leadership PAC (PAL PAC), a far-left political action committee dedicated to electing far-left politicians, including Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) leaders who run as Democrats. She has also financed far-left politicians and spread hatred of America online.
PAL PAC is part of a broader political network seeking to bring down the "American Empire" from within. To learn more, see the Canary Mission campaign The Machine Behind the Democratic Party's Radical Transformation.
DSA's anti-capitalist ideology features anti-American, anti-police and abolitionist elements. DSA also called for Israel's destruction and justified terrorism two days after Hamas murdered 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023.
DeReus has expressed hatred of Israel and promoted an antisemitic conspiracy theory online. She is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas in Gaza.
As of August 2026, DeReus was affiliated with Abdul El-Sayed.
According to Axios, 2026 U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed from Michigan "has called Israel a 'rogue state,' accused it of genocide and apartheid, and has declined to say whether Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state."
As of October 2026, DeReus's LinkedIn said she was the executive director of the anti-Israel Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU) and was located in Irvine, California.
