Val Shum

Val Shum participated in an anti-Israel event at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in May 2024, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

As of May 2025, Val Shum’s LinkedIn profile said Shum was an "Office and People Manager" at Pro Group USA.

As of July 2025, Val Shum's LinkedIn also said Shum graduated from MIT with a bachelor's degree in "City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning" in September 2023.

As of August 2025, Val Shum expressed support for the anti-Israel activist group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP).

The event was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. The outcome of the movement's goals would result in Israel's destruction. Within hours of the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, the BDS movement renewed its call for an anti-Israel boycott.
