Ricardo Whilby

Ricardo Whilby expressed support for terrorism, called for Israel’s destruction and yelled at Jews that they should be expelled from Israel while he disrupted public meetings in Bergen County, New Jersey, in late 2023. Whilby owns a local towing company.

The incidents occurred following a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.

The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron,” which was going on when Whilby disrupted the public meetings.

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

As of December 18, 2023, Whilby was listed online as the co-owner and manager of Red Hills Towing and Transportation LLC in Englewood, New Jersey. Official state business records show that the company number is 0400190743.

Whilby also goes by Rick Whilby.

On December 13, 2023, Whilby disrupted a board of education public meeting in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he shouted [00:00:11]: “From the river to the sea! By any f**king means necessary!” He also spread antisemitism at the meeting where Jews were in attendance.

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.

In the video, Whilby had to be held back [00:00:01] by multiple people while shouting at others, including one to whom he gave [00:00:14] a middle finger. Police reportedly escorted him from the room.

At the same meeting, Whilby also reportedly protested against teaching about the Holocaust in the state’s public schools. He said he was “from the Caribbean” and continued: “We had plantations that were run by Jews. You cannot teach us anything about genocide. Our genocide was four hundred years running. The countless black victims of our holocaust, you cannot equate. You cannot teach anyone about genocide.”

The claim that Jews were dominant in the transatlantic slave trade was propagated in a book published by the Nation of Islam titled: “The Secret Relationship between Blacks and Jews.” The book has been discredited in a work titled: “Jews, Slaves, and the Slave Trade: Setting the Record Straight,” by John Jay College of Criminal Justice professor of history, Eli Faber.

One rabbi who participated in the meeting said that when Whilby spoke, he was “calling the Jews descendants of Satan, Christ-killers, etc.”
