Ramy Khalil

On October 14, 2023, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, Khalil participated [00:01:44] in a pro-Hamas rally in Seattle, Washington, where he said, referring to Hamas's October 7, 2023, terror attacks: "There is a long history that has led up to this..."

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.

On February 9, 2024, Khalil wrote an article for the DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus, in which he said: "A new uprising of the Palestinian people, like the first Intifada, will be essential to win Palestinian liberation today."

The first intifada lasted from 1987 to 1991 and resulted in over 120 Israeli civilian casualties. Palestinian terrorists hijacked multiple buses and carried out shooting, stabbing and bombing attacks against Israelis, including the bombing of the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem.

On June 27, 2024, Khalil co-authored an article for the DSA's Reform & Revolution caucusin which he wrote: "...we think socialists should adopt the position outlined in the Reform & Revolution statement shortly after October 7, 2023."

The statement read: "Reform & Revolution stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people resisting apartheid and occupation. We call for mass protests in the US and around the world against the bombardment and brutal siege of Gaza..."

Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.

Israel and Egypt implemented a UN-approved [pp. 39–41] joint blockade of the Gaza Strip in 2011 to stop Hamas terrorists from acquiring more sophisticated rockets. During Israel's 2023-2025 war against Hamas, Hamas went around the blockade by smuggling weaponry through tunnels under the Philadelphi corridor separating Gaza from Egypt.

The statement also read: "We support a mass armed uprising against the Israeli military, democratically organized, like the First Intifada..."

In the same article, Khalil also wrote: "We openly stand for the victory of the Palestinian people and the defeat of the Israel state...we recognize that a mass struggle against foreign rule can require armed resistance."

On June 27, 2024, Khalil co-authored an article for the DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus, in which he expressed opposition to "US imperialism."

On February 9, 2024, Khalil wrote an article for the DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus, in which he accused the U.S. of "supremacy."

On June 27, 2024, Khalil co-wrote an article for the DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus, in which he defended "the right of return for the Palestinian diaspora."

The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

In the same article, Khalil wrote: "socialists must support the Palestinian struggle and fight to defeat the Israeli state."

On February 9, 2024, Khalil wrote an article for the DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus, in which he shared a Reform & Revolution statement on Palestine that opposed "Jewish supremacism and Zionism."

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is America’s largest socialist organization. Its core ideology includes anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Western and abolitionist elements.

Following the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks against Israel, DSA condemned Israel, expressed support for Hamas, endorsed anti-Israel rallies and called for members to engage in anti-Israel activism. It condemned Israeli retaliatory attacks against the IRGC and Hezbollah, as well as the U.S. attacks against the Houthi terror organization, whose slogan reads: "...Death to America / Death to Israel / A Curse upon the Jews...”

DSA first endorsed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in 2017 and it has also condemned sanctions against countries like Iran and Cuba.

The group endorses far-left politicians on the local, state and federal levels. DSA also promotes anti-Israel agitators, including DSA members Rashida Tlaib, Zohran Mamdani and Linda Sarsour.

Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), DSA’s youth section active in high schools and colleges, has co-organized anti-Israel protests across the U.S. since October 7, 2023, particularly the April 2024 pro-terror encampments on university campuses.

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
