Mireya Loza

Mireya Loza signed a letter in April 2024 that spread hatred of Israel and claimed that Israel’s war against Hamas was a “genocidal campaign.”

The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas in Gaza.

For years before the 2023-2025 war, pro-terror activists routinely accused Israel of "genocide." On October 8, 2023, they continued using this "blood libel" to try to normalize it. They redefined the term, inflated death tolls, ignored Israeli aid efforts and dismissed Hamas war crimes that led to more Gazan deaths, thereby feeding more social media propaganda.

The April 26, 2024 letter Mireya Loza signed was in support of the anti-Israel encampment at The George Washington University (GW) in Washington, D.C., where students and outside activists reportedly called for Israel’s destruction. Local media said that 33 protesters were arrested, at least six of whom were GW students. Seven GW students were suspended.

Nearly 200 anti-Israel college encampments were set up in North America in spring 2024. Activists harassed Jews with antisemitic slurs, expressed their support [00:02:45] for Hamas terrorism and called [00:04:45] for Israel's destruction. They blocked Jews from campus facilities and limited access to those with special wristbands or who said they weren't a Zionist.

The GW encampment was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of June 2026, Mireya Loza was listed as an associate professor in the Department of History and the American Studies Program at Georgetown University (GU), which is located in Washington, D.C.
