Phara Souffrant Forrest
Phara Souffrant Forrest is a New York state lawmaker and an activist with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) chapter in New York City (NYC-DSA), who engaged in activism with the group as early as 2017.
NYC-DSA is an anti-American and anti-Israel activist group. It celebrated the Hamas terror attacks of October 7, 2023, by holding a rally the next day.
As of October 2025, Phara Souffrant Forrest’s LinkedIn profile said she had been an assemblymember in the New York State Assembly since 2021. She has represented the 57th district, which is in Brooklyn and "consists of the neighborhoods of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill as well as parts of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights."
As of October 2025, Phara Souffrant Forrest’s list of endorsements for her campaign for New York State Assembly District 57 included NYC-DSA, as well as NYC-DSA member and mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, one of her colleagues in the state assembly.
Mamdani's anti-America and far-left activist network, which includes the DSA, helped him win the 2025 Democratic Party primary. He won the general election in November 2025.
DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. Notable members are activist Linda Sarsour and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
