Olivia Hazin

Overview

Olivia Hazin [Olivia Taha] was arrested for civil disobedience at an anti-Israel protest. Hazin is also a gun enthusiast who has mocked a deceased cancer victim and spread anti-Semitism, compared Israel to Nazi Germany and spread incitement.
Hazin has also demonized Zionists and spread hatred of Israel online.

In September 2020, a “Family-Harassment” lawsuit was filed against Hazin, and in January 2021, a Los Angeles court issued a civil harassment restraining order against Hazin to stay away from a Jewish student studying at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

In April 2019, Hazin was reportedly removedfrom the official SMC Facebook group because the group administrators “couldn't handle [her] aggressiveness.”

In January 2020, Hazin indicated on Facebook that she and a few others started the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at Santa Monica College (SMC). In 2019 and 2020, Hazin was a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Hazin indicated in a YouTube live video that she was also “part of” [00:37:14] of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at SMC.

In April 2022, Hazin ran [00:08:51] for Associated Students (A.S.) president at SMC.During her candidacy, Hazin reportedly clashed with another presidential candidate, Kamiko Greenwood, at an A.S. board of directors meeting after a fellow student emailed Greenwood Hazin’s Canary Mission profile and Greenwood reported on the profile’s content at the meeting.

As of August 2023, Hazin’s LinkedIn profile said she served as vice chair of SMC’s A.S. from February to July 2022.

As of the same date, Hazin described herself on LinkedIn as a third-year pre-law student at the University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley), and “Future lawyer.” Tara noted that she was studying for a bachelor's degree in international law and legal studies at UC Berkeley, slated to graduate in 2024.

Hazin’s LinkedIn also said she graduated from SMC with an associate’s degree in pre-law studies in 2021 and an associate’s degree in neurobiology and behavior in 2019.

As of August 2023, Hazin’s LinkedIn said she had been a member of the volunteer staff at the anti-Israel organization Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) since 2012.

As of August 2023, Hazin’s LinkedIn said she was located in Los Angeles, California.

As of August 2023, Hazin went by the username “yaya” and used the handle “@Falastini1948” on Twitter. As of the same date, she went by the username Olivia Hazin and used the handle “zaytouna.huzien” on Facebook.

As of August 2023, four of Hazin’s Twitter accounts had been suspended.

Arrest

On August 24, 2014, during Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) against Hamas, Hazin was one of 13 protesters arrested for an act of civil disobedience by staging a sit-in at the office of New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez. The event was publicized on Facebook and called “No More Blank Check for Israel's Crimes!"

Israel commenced OPE in July 2014 to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.

The event was hosted by 2020 Green Party candidate for the U.S. Senate for New Jersey, Madelyn Hoffman.

Gun Enthusiast

On October 22, 2019, Hazin shared a photo of herself to Facebook shooting a pistol at a gun range. Hazin said in the comments on the post: “I have a similar collection but lord knows how much I love our AK lmaooo [laughing my a** off].”

The AK47  is referred to by some as “the terrorist’s weapon of choice.”

On July 21, 2020, Hazin posted a photo to Twitter of a woman holding a machine gun and the words “Free Palestine.” She wrote: “I’m just a Pali girl living in a Cali world. #AKlover #F**kWithMeUKnowIGotIt #FreePalestine #BadB**chesOnly #In #Palestine ♥️💚🤍🖤.”

On August 23, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “They won’t f**k with Palestinians in America because we have gun rights. Lol. He asked Mossad. He knows what’s up.”

Hazin then shared a GIF of the final scene from the 1983 movie Scarface, with the main character holding an assault rifle and screaming “Say hello to my little friend.”

Mocking a Deceased Cancer Victim

On March 1, 2020, Hazin was the subject of an article on the IsraellyCool blog website, written by David Lange, titled “Anti-Zionist-Not-Antisemite of the Day,” which revealed the profound anti-Semitism in many of Hazin’s anti-Israel postings.

In response, Hazin posted a series of photos lifted from Lange’s personal Facebook account and mocked Lange’s deceased wife, who had recently succumbed to cancer.

On March 1, 2020, Hazin also called Lange a “khara (s**t) Khazar” with a “big a** nose” and stated: “Your children are being raised by a psycho stalker.”

That same day, Hazin posted a photo to Facebook of Lange praying at the Western Wall and captioned it: “LmfaoooooOoooOoooooOoooo.[Laughing my f**king a** off.]”

Again that day, Hazin posted a photo of Lange’s late wife to Facebook and referenced her stage-4 cancer diagnosis: “God gave it to the wrong person. But then again she’s married to HIM. She’s prob [sic] just as worse. #Zionists #in #Palestine.”

On March 3, 2020, Hazin claimed on Facebook that she thought she was mocking a living cancer victim, not a deceased person, writing: “I posted your picture bowing and captioned ‘lmaoo’ because all you can see is your big a** nose...I thought she was battling cancer still and tried to reach her to tell her how pathetic and evil her husband is.”

Spreading Anti-Semitism

On August 18, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “EVERY WHITE MOTHERF**KING EUROPEAN JEW HOLY F***KK” in response to a meme she shared that read: “White Privilege: ‘We'll decide what is racist and what is not racist We're the deciders of everything.’"

On March 3, 2020, Hazin posted a meme in the comments of one of her Facebook posts. The meme showed a man’s lips being zipped together by a zipper with a Jewish star on the tab. The text read: “Antisemitism: A term used to shut anyone questionning [sic] Israel’s barbarism & Zionist world control.”

On March 26, 2019, Hazin shared to Facebook a graphic of Israel’s former Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, with text that read: “My family came to Palestine from Europe as refugees and later we killed Palestinians and illegally occupied their land. Our agenda is to employ the tools of chaos magic --to use deception, lies, craft and magic-- to obtain..the conquest of the Gentile world and establish our Jewish New World Order.” She captioned the post “bibi suck my pipi #trash.”

On December 24, 2019, Hazin shared on Twitter an anti-Semitic meme: “Mom, look! I is chosen! I can now kill, rape, smuggle organs & steal land of Palestinians! *Yay* #Ashke-Nazi.” Hazin tweeted: “#Zionism #FreePalestine #Organsmugglers.”

Accusations against Israel stealing or harvesting organs have been rehashed over the years, echoing old anti-Semitic blood libels against Jews alleging they would abduct gentiles for sacrificial purposes, including using the blood of Christian children to bake matzah for the Jewish holiday of Passover.

On February 1, 2020,Hazin posted to Facebook “Who wants to make a bet that the owner of GoFundMe is a zionist? And corny liberals that think they’re progressives wanna say it’s ‘antisemitic’ to claim Jews own majority of news outlets and capitalist corporations... yes I said Jews because who is majority zionist?... ”

The assertion that Jews control the media has been traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic fabricated text that depicts wealthy Jews conspiring to take over the world.

Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany

On August 24, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “If you don’t think the illegal military occupation otherwise known as israel is the same as Nazi Germany you have, with no due respect, completely and utterly lost the plot.”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

Also on August 24, 2020, Hazin posted a photo to Twitter of Netanyahu holding up his armin a manner reminiscent of a Nazi salute. She wrote: “So, I didn’t bother reading a thing you’ve said. You’re a zionist. Congruent to a Nazi with your racial supremacist ideology. No difference. Byeeee 👋🏽.”

On August 15, 2020, Hazin posted to Facebook: “#Zionists are bats**t. Lol. Prove me wrong. #FreePalestine from this mess, please. These people are like HitlerR with his Aryan superior race.”

On February 1, 2020, Hazin posted to Facebook: “Zionists need to be held to the same standard as Naz.is and white supre.macists. I’m done pretending. No, I won’t have coffee with someone that thinks it’s okay to murd.er people and animals. I was nice before, not anymore. I would never be nice to a NA.zi.”

Spreading Incitement

On March 21, 2019, Hazin shared to Facebook a Middle East Monitor (MME) article headlined “Extremist Jewish groups prepare for massive raid of Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

On May 7-10, 2021, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa compound, following claims that Al-Aqsa Mosque was in danger. The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Al-Aqsa has been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state.

On January 21, 2020, 2020 Hazin tweeted a video that claimed Jews “stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied #Jerusalem early this morning, escorted by Israeli occupation forces.” Hazin captioned the post “#Colonialist. #tingz.”

Palestinians and anti-Israel activists have historically described visits by Jews to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem as “incursions” during which Jews purportedly “storm” the Temple Mount and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Palestinians have also frequently used the mosque to stockpile stone slabs, fireworks and rocks, with which they attack Israeli security officers and non-Muslim visitors to the Temple Mount.

On August 21, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “...When we have our right of return, yall gon b fuxkkkeddddd.”

The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel.

Lawsuit

On September 28, 2020, a Jewish law school student from Los Angeles filed a “Family - Harassment” lawsuit against Hazin. The case was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Courts, Stanley Mosk Courthouse, and resulted in a restraining order against Hazin.

On October 18, 2022, in a contempt hearing for violating the restraining order, the judge reportedly admonished Hazin and advised her to refrain from posting "racist and antisemitic material on social media.

Spreading Anti-Israel Conspiracy Theories

On January 4, 2020, Hazin posted to Facebook a Los Angeles Times article about the U.S. assassination of Iranian general Qassem Suleimani and commented: “We don’t live in America, we live in greater israel [sic]. Americans need to wake up [sic] f up.

“Greater Israel” is a conspiracy theory which claims that Israel plans to expand its territory to encompass most of the Middle East and chunks of North Africa.

Hazin continued: “They don’t realize how much israel [sic] influences our every move, our every purchase here in America.”

Also on January 4, 2020, Hazin posted a graphic on Facebook that showed the words “Iraq/n” on top and Netanyahu and his wife (Sara) walking through a mass of caskets draped with American flags. Sara asks “So what’s all this?” to which Netanyahu responds, “American soldiers who have died for a Greater Israel, but don’t worry, there’s plenty more where they came from!!!”

Demonizing Zionists

On January 19, 2022, Hazin posted a video to TikTok which included text across it that read: “We’re going no where. Your time is limited, zioZbala [zioscum]. ” She captioned the post: “#fyp#sheikhjarrah#racists#colonizerculture#BDS#boycottisrael...”

On January 20, 2022, Hazin commented on the video: “I wouldn’t even insult animals, I love animals and they are innocent. More like the khara [s**t] coming out of the animals😂.” She was responding to a comment that read: “I personally like the term ziodogs because they don't act human, they act like animals.”

The term "Zio" is a common derogatory reference to Zionists, as well as an often-used anti-Semitic slur among white supremacists.

Also on August 23, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “I ask this white girl if she supports israel and this her response. I’m tired of these so called internet trolls that talk big about peace yet support f*king terrorism. GO TO HELL AND DONT COME BACK ZIONISTS.”

On August 17, 2020, Hazin shared a photo to Twitter of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man pulling at his side locks, with text across it that read “The ‘Chosen’ People.” Hazin wrote: “Zionists, especially the crazy chosen kind, are BATS**T crazy.”

On January 29, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “F**k you if you’re a #zionist.🚮🚮🚮

On October 9, 2019, Hazin posted a screenshot on Facebook advertising a Students Supporting Israel event at Santa Monica College called “Cookies, Coffee and Coexistence… ”

Hazin commented: “Aww the #racist #zios blocked me from spreading the truth on to [sic] their page 😂wait til they hear from my other accounts! For a bunch of paid trolls they sure are dumb as rocks... #israel #santamonicacollege #zionists #phony.”

On April 13, 2019, Hazin posted on Facebook a fabricated quote from Zionist leader Ze’ev Jabotinsky, writing: “Good morning Zios.. just a reminder of your very racist regime, is all. 😙☺️"Hitler—odious as he is to us—has given this idea (ethnic cleansing) a good name in the world.—Jabotinsky One Palestine Complete, p. 407…”

Hazin continued: “his [Jabotinsky’s] tombstone is located in NY. I will be sure to spit on his grave and pray that God forgives him of all of the evil he has perpetuated.”

Jabotinsky’s tombstone is located on Mount Herzl, in Jerusalem.

Hatred of Israel

On September 25, 2022, Hazin posted a video of herself on TikTok wearing a hat that said: “MAKE ISRAEL PALESTINE AGAIN.”

On August 24, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “And just so yall know: the US Police are trained by the self proclaimed ‘Worlds Strongest Military’ otherwise known as ‘israel.’ & more? The Mexico border wall contracted by same contractor of apartheid wall in Palestine. Believe me when I say it’s a WE issue.”

In 2017, JVP launched the “Deadly Exchange (DX)” campaign, which accused American Jewish organizations of promoting human rights abuses. JVP also released a video that blamed [00:04:04] U.S.-based Jewish organizations for violence that occurs against Black and Brown communities, immigrants and activists in the U.S.

Israel’s security barrier, 97 percent of which is a low chain-link barrier, was built as a deterrent to Palestinian terror attacks. The concrete portions of the fence were built in response to Palestinian sniper attacks.

On August 23, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA!”

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.

On July 29, 2019, Hazin shared to Facebook a photo of a woman’s fingernails painted with the Israeli flag and the caption “When you wiping ya a** and a little bit of s**t gets on your fingers.”

BDS Activism

On August 24, 2020, Hazin tweeted: “... They have a petition asking UCLA to denounce me for boycotting israel too. We started a club on campus in Santa Monica - Students for Boycott Divestment & Sanctions of israel and they’re maaaadddddd…”

On January 29, 2020, Hazin posted to Facebook: “As the president of Students for Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions of israel [sic] at Santa Monica College— the ONLY BDS CLUB IN AMERICA, no less— I promise you that I will never quit fighting for Palestine on college campuses. Nor will I back down from SBDSi [Students for Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions of Israel.]...”

She continued: “I WILL bring SBDSi with me to whichever university I transfer to, and will make an effort to see that it remains at Santa Monica College. Best believe that.”

On May 15, 2019, under the name Olivia Taha, Hazin requested [and received approval for] funds for two Students for Boycott Divestment and Sanctions of Israel Club events at SMC.

On April 5, 2019, Hazin posted to Facebook: “Everyone! I’m proud to announce a new club that we started on SMC’s campus, Students for Boycott Divestment & Sanctions of Israel!... “

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.

MSA

The MSA was  established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
