Nathan Schechter has spread hatred of Israel as an activist with the anti-Israel campus group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) in 2025.
The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.
In 2024-2025, Nathan Schechter was a member of the JVP chapter at Haverford College (Haverford).
Nathan Schechter graduated from Haverford with a bachelor's degree in philosophy in May 2025.
As of July 2025, Nathan Schechter's LinkedIn profile said he was located in Birmingham, Michigan.
On May 6, 2025, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, Schechter co-wrote an article published in Clerk, Haverford's student newspaper, titled: "Letter to the Editor: Jewish Haverford Students Reject Congress’ Weaponization of Antisemitism."
In the article, Schechter promoted the idea that "Judaism Does (Not) Equal Zionism." She also wrote that, as a JVP member, she "held weekly anti-Zionist Shabbat rituals."
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.
Shabbat is the day of rest in Judaism commemorating the completion of Creation by God, which is celebrated on the seventh day of the week (Saturday).
