Judith Chavarria
Judith Chavarria [Jacob-Alexander Chavarria] has expressed support for violence and terrorism and spread hatred of America and Israel as a leader in the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
Chavarria is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of September 2025, Chavarria's X bio said Chavarria was a steering committee member of the DSA chapter in Centre County, Pennsylvania (Centre County DSA).
Chavarria expressed support for 2025 New York mayoral candidate and DSA member Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani's anti-America and far-left activist network, which includes the DSA, helped him win the 2025 Democratic Party primary. He won the general election in November 2025.
DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. Notable members are activist Linda Sarsour and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
As of September 2025, Chavarria was listed as a PhD student in the Department of Philosophy at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), which is located in University Park, Pennsylvania.
In July 2024, Chavarria posted on X that Chavarria "wanted to be a teacher" and had started a "part-time job as a tutor" for children.
On September 10, 2025, the day that conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated, Chavarria posted on X: "Political violence is immanent to antagonistic forms of social organization. When someone claims that it 'has no place in our country' you should read that critically because it has the function of mystifying—and thus perpetuating—the violence it claims to reject, despite itself."
Charlie Kirk was a conservative activist and entrepreneur who was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. One of the messages written on the bullet casing used to assassinate Kirk read: "Hey, fascist. Catch!"
On November 11, 2024, Chavarria was featured in a Centre County DSA Instagram post in which DSA members discussed "the history of the First Intifada, women’s liberation, and what it’ll take to effectively build the Palestinian liberation movement," through the lens of the documentary film "Naila and the Uprising."
The film reportedly focused on the story of Naila Ayesh and other Palestinian women "who played prominent roles in the First Intifada." Ayesh was a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), which is dedicated to the violent destruction of Israel.
The first intifada lasted from 1987 to 1991 and resulted in over 120 Israeli civilian casualties. Palestinian terrorists hijacked multiple buses and carried out shooting, stabbing and bombing attacks against Israelis, including the bombing of the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem.
On December 1, 2023, Chavarria co-wrote an article for DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus titled: "The Struggle for Palestinian Liberation."
In the article, Chavarria wrote: "The First Intifada ('uprising') in the 1980s saw tens of thousands of bottom-up committees of Palestinian resistance, constituting a democratic mass uprising against Israeli oppression. We stand for a new mass uprising of the Palestinian people...along the lines of the First Intifada."
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and antisemitic violence.
Chavarria also wrote: "Marxists are not pacifists. A mass uprising against the brutal IDF [Israel Defense Forces] requires taking up arms, which is the right of all occupied peoples."
On November 14, 2024, during Israel's war against Hamas, Chavarria posted on X: "Palestinian liberation roughly involves five points...2. Continuation of armed resistance / 3. Regional uprisings which destabilize Israel / 4. Splintering of Israeli society..."
On December 1, 2023, Chavarria co-wrote an article for DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus, titled: "The Struggle for Palestinian Liberation."
Chavarria defended DSA's National Political Committee (NPC)'s October 7, 2023 statement, which blamed Israel for the Hamas terror attacks that day.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 251 and wounded thousands. War crimes included various systematic sexual crimes like gang rape and genital mutilation. Men and women were violated, even after being murdered. Victims who survived that day, including hostages, endured forms of humiliation and torture.
Gazans working in the targeted Israeli villages provided intelligence to Hamas on which families to kill and torture, including long-time employers. Many Palestinian civilians joined in and celebrated the attacks. Hamas livestreamed their crimes on social media, including to victims’ accounts for families to see. On August 11, 2025, Chavarria was featured in an Instagram video speaking at the DSA National Convention. During the speech, Chavarria claimed [00:00:11] that "the American empire descended to barbarism, actively supporting the genocide of Gaza."

On February 2, 2024, Chavarria co-wrote an article titled: "Reform & Revolution #14: Fighting for a Ceasefire, Fighting Imperialism, Defending the Achievements of the Cuban Revolution."
In the article, Chavarria wrote that "US imperialism is anemically stretching across the globe, throwing it into a maelstrom of war and poverty."
The Cuban Revolution was an armed insurrection in Cuba in 1959 led by Fidel Castro that established a socialist state. The new regime was characterized by repression of dissent, torture and forced labor camps. Thousands of deemed enemies were executed by firing squads in stadiums and prisons, often with little or no due process.
On October 13, 2023, six days after Hamas terrorists murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, Chavarria claimed on X that Israel was responsible for the "annihilation of Palestinians" in its war against the terror group.
On December 1, 2023, Chavarria co-wrote an article for DSA's Reform & Revolution caucus titled: "The Struggle for Palestinian Liberation."
Chavarria defended in the article the "right of return for the Palestinian diaspora."
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel.
On October 1, 2024, Chavarria accused Israel on X of committing an "apartheid."
As of September 2025, Chavarria's Substack page said Chavarria had been a member of DSA's Reform & Revolution, a "revolutionary Marxist caucus...organizing for a democratic socialist party and the overthrow of capitalism!"
Chavarria was the president [slide 4] of the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), DSA's youth section, at Florida International University (FIU) in 2022.
On August 11, 2025, Chavarria was featured in an Instagram video speaking at the DSA National Convention, where Chavarria said [00:01:09]: "...Zohran Mandani's primary win for the mayoral race in NYC is a flashpoint of struggle that has quickly changed the political terrain for NYC-DSA and DSA, as a whole."
On June 5, 2025, Chavarria posted on X: "...A socialist mayor doesn’t change the totality of capitalist social and political relations in the US. State power isn’t a piecemeal thing, and Zohran would be operating in enemy territory as mayor."
On May 28, 2025, Chavarria posted on X: "...I think that DSA is stronger for having run Zohran."
On the same date, Chavarria posted on X: "There are critical weaknesses in Zohran’s campaign but, considering the years-long stagnation of the left in the US, I think it’s significant enough that it deserves serious engagement from other socialists and not just dismissive remarks."
Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is America’s largest socialist organization. Its core ideology includes anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Western and abolitionist elements.
Following the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks against Israel, DSA condemned Israel, expressed support for Hamas, endorsed anti-Israel rallies and called for members to engage in anti-Israel activism. It condemned Israeli retaliatory attacks against the IRGC and Hezbollah, as well as the U.S. attacks against the Houthi terror organization, whose slogan reads: "...Death to America / Death to Israel / A Curse upon the Jews...”
DSA first endorsed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in 2017 and it has also condemned sanctions against countries like Iran and Cuba.
The group endorses far-left politicians on the local, state and federal levels. DSA also promotes anti-Israel agitators, including DSA members Rashida Tlaib, Zohran Mamdani and Linda Sarsour.
Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), DSA’s youth section active in high schools and colleges, has co-organized anti-Israel protests across the U.S. since October 7, 2023, particularly the April 2024 pro-terror encampments on university campuses.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
