Fatima Mohammed
Fatima Mohammed Led the Pro-Hamas Encampment at Columbia University (Columbia), Justified Hamas Terrorism & Called for Israel’s Destruction
Fatima Mohammed justified Hamas terrorism against civilians and called for Israel’s destruction during Israeli’s war against Hamas terrorists after the October 7, 2023 terror attacks. Mohammed, who also goes by Fatima Mousa Mohammed, has spread hatred of Zionists and Israelis, as well as Zionists, Zionism, Israel and America online.
Mohammed led the pro-Hamas encampment at Columbia in April and May 2024.
Mohammed has glorified terrorists, called for Israel’s destruction and celebrated [00:23:20] violence as a featured speaker at multiple events organized by the anti-Israel activist group Within Our Lifetime (WOL) in 2021 and 2022.
On May 12, 2023, Mohammed spoke as the student body-elected commencement speaker for the Class of 2023 at the City University of New York (CUNY) Law School (CUNY Law).
During the speech, Mohammed promoted violence, spread hatred of Israel and the police, honored terrorist financiers and showed support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
On May 30, 2023, CUNY’s chancellor and board of trustees released a statement condemning Mohammed’s address as “hate speech” and describing the incident as “unacceptable’' and “hurtful to the entire CUNY community.”
At a 2022 WOL rally, Mohammed spoke [00:14:20] on behalf of the CUNY Law Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter (CUNY Law SJP). In 2021 and 2022, she wrote on Twitter that she was an SJP activist.
WOL is an anti-Israel activist group in New York City founded by Nerdeen Kiswani. Mohammed expressed support for Kiswani multiple times in 2021 and 2022, including saying that Kiswani “inspired a generation of leaders behind her.”
As of June 2023, Mohammed’s LinkedIn said she began studying for her law degree at CUNY Law in 2021 and graduated in 2023. Her LinkedIn also said she had attended John Jay College, which is part of CUNY, starting in September 2018, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in law and society in May 2019.
Mohammed was a 2021 Sorensen Center Fellow at the Sorensen Center for International Peace and Justice at CUNY Law. Her bio on the center’s website said: “National Lawyer’s Guild – George Floyd/BLM Civil Litigation Taskforce.”
Also as of June 2023, Mohammed’s LinkedIn said she was located in Jamaica, New York.
As of January 2024, Mohammed used the handle “@fatima__m7md” on Twitter. She had used the handles “@relaaaaaxxxx” and “@Fa_tiimaaa” on Twitter, as well as “@f__atimaaa” on Instagram before she deleted these accounts.

On October 13, 2023, Mohammed tweeted: “this idea of an israeli civilian is a constructed concept meant to distract from the violence necessitated to create a settlor.”
On October 17, 2023, Mohammed tweeted: “zionism is incompatible with humanity. it is incompatible with life. zionism must be eradicated and turned into dust. that is the ONLY solution.”
On November 21, 2023, Mohammed tweeted: “nothing but the complete dismantling of zionism will suffice.”
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.
For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
On May 8, 2021, Mohammed tweeted: “terms like left-wing Israeli just make me laugh. Allah yl3nhm kuluhum ya rab [May Allah curse them all, oh God.]”
On the same thread, Mohammed tweeted: “may every Zionist burn in the hottest pit of hell.”
Also on the same thread, Mohammed tweeted: “pretty sure Nazis weren’t shy to boast about their nazism either 🤷.” Her tweet was in response to a tweet that said: “I love being a zionist.”
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.
Mohammed retweeted a May 10, 2021 tweet that said: “Those isr*li’s that celebrated? May you never know peace, in this life and the next.”
In May 2021, social media erupted with videos allegedly showing Jews dancing and cheering while a tree burned near the Al-Aqsa mosque. The fire was reportedly caused by Palestinian rioters shooting fireworks at Israeli police. Jews had gathered at the Western Wall in honor of Jerusalem Day, an Israeli national holiday, with no connection to the incident.
On May 10, 2021, Mohammed tweeted: “May you burn in the same fire the settler zionist celebrated today and may every zionist like yourself face the wrath of your injustice. Allah yl3nak [May God curse you].”
Mohammed’s tweet was in response to a tweet posted by then-New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang in support of “the people of Israel” who were suffering from Hamas rocket attacks launched at civilian population centers.
Mohammed retweeted a May 16, 2021 tweet that said: “We will make it socially unacceptable AND unbearable for anyone to be a Zionist regardless of what their religion is: Muslim, Jewish or Christian.”
Mohammed retweeted a May 22, 2021 tweet that said: “i do not support all women some of y’all are zionists.”
Mohammed retweeted a June 16, 2021 tweet that said: “‘second nakba is coming’ yea the israeli nakba when y’all leave to brooklyn.”
The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by drawing a comparison to the Holocaust, known in Hebrew as the Shoah, meaning “catastrophe.”
On November 26, 2023, Mohammed tweeted: “my parents telling me to be careful like there’s a way to escape the zionist lust for our blood.”
On November 7, 2024, referring to the anti-Semitic pogroms in Amsterdam earlier that day, Mohammed posted on X: “Proud to be from Amsterdam *i’m fully Yemeni*.” It was still November 7 in the U.S. when she posted her comment on X.
On November 8, 2024, anti-Semitic rioters coordinated a violent attack on hundreds of Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Local police reported that at least five victims were hospitalized and more than 60 assailants were arrested.
On February 10, 2025, Mohammed posted on X: “the claim that Hamas postponing the prisoner exchange will ‘provoke’ the zionist entity into escalating the genocide is pure hasbara. not only has israel repeatedly violated the ceasefire, but the zionist entity itself remains the true provocation.”
On February 2, 2025, Mohammed posted on X: “... ‘israeli culture’ cannot and doesn’t exist without the theft and exploitation of Palestinians and their land. Hope that helps!”
On January 14, 2025, Mohammed posted on X: “zionism has created such irredeemable, bloodthirsty people.”
On January 13, 2025, Mohammed posted on X: “The Palestinian resistance fought against the most advanced, immoral, lethal forces of the world for over a year and they survived. That is their victory. A victory that is surely a foreshadowing for a liberated soil from the river to the sea, by gods will.”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
On January 2, 2025, Mohammed posted on X: “zionists are able to publicly mobilize for violence against us because they exist within structures and systems that not only legitimize their violence but also protect them. just a bunch of violent cowards lashing out.”
On December 26, 2024, Mohammed posted on X: “don’t mistake the cruelty for strength- zionism is in its death spiral, clawing desperately at the end. it is gasping its last breath, thrashing in the agony of its inevitable demise.”
On November 6, 2024, Mohammed posted on X: “resistance is glorious, we will be victorious باذن الله [God-willing].” In her post, she included a video of WOL activists marching in the streets while chanting the same phrase.
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
On March 4, 2024, Mohammed posted on X: “Israel has no right to exist. none.”
On January 13, 2024, Mohammed posted on X: “trust me sis, israel will fall 🙏🏽.”
Mohammed retweeted a May 7, 2021 tweet that said: “God #FreePalestine from oppressors who don't have sanctity for neither humanity nor faith. Attacking #MasjidAlAqsa during night worship in the holiest month to all Muslims #Ramadan. The silence of the world as genocide is dismissed through fake diplomacy & sanctioned by apathy.”
On May 7-10, 2021, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police at the Al Aqsa compound following claims the Al Aqsa mosque was in danger.
The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.
Mohammed retweeted a May 10, 2021 tweet that said: “israel is the largest terrorist organization in this entire region and its sponsored with blank checks every year by the largest terrorist organization in the world.”
Mohammed’s retweet was during Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW) against Hamas.
In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.
Mohammed retweeted a May 12, 2021 tweet that said: “IDF soldier died damn IDgaF [I don’t give a f**k].”
Mohammed retweeted a May 13, 2021 tweet that said: “May Allah destroy Israel.”
On May 20, 2021, Mohammed tweeted after the announcement of a ceasefire to end OGW.
Mohammed wrote: “Celebrating a ceasefire is like celebrating a slower more painful death. Celebrating a ceasefire as though justice has been served is celebrating a slower paced genocide with a thicker veil. Do not get distracted. Stay organized. Liberation is the goal.”
Mohammed retweeted a June 10, 2021 tweet that said: “Constantly praying on the downfall of Fr*nce and Isr*el <3.”
In May 2022, Mohammed’s Instagram Stories Highlights titled “f_atimaaa” posted [slide 9] a photo she captioned with the words: “quick make dua [pray] for the fall of Zionism and the destruction of Israel.”
On May 20, 2022, Mohammed tweeted: “zionist think they’re doing something when they call me a israel hater like … yeah buddy its not just hate - I don’t believe israel should exist at all.”
On May 24, 2022, Mohammed tweeted: “Here is your daily reminder that a world without israel existed and a future without it will too.”
On June 8, 2022, Mohammed tweeted: “Zionism has no place in cuny. Attempts to silence us only make us stronger. #ZionismOutOfCUNY #Westandwithnerdeen [Nerdeen Kiswani].”
Also on October 17, 2023, Mohammed tweeted: “to those just tuning in. We do not need your sympathy. We need your RAGE. We do not need your sympathy. We need your RAGE. We do not need your sympathy. We need your RAGE. We do not need your sympathy. We need your RAGE. We do not need your sympathy. We need your RAGE.”
On October 28, 2023, Mohammed tweeted: “glory to the martyrs, each and every single one of them. glory to them.”
On January 1, 2024, Mohammed tweeted: “expect us everywhere, at any time, at any day, during holidays and busy seasons- in the streets, airports, and stations. until we get justice this city will not rest. and if that bothers you - go cry about it to [President Joe] biden who’s butchering our people.”
On February 4, 2025, Mohammed posted on X: “It’s a major disservice to continue repurposing the ‘America First’ criticism as some kind of gotcha. The power dynamic has never been clearer. The genocide in Palestine has always been an American one, exported to a fascist ethno-state that performs at its will.”
On May 9, 2021, Mohammed tweeted: “... i pray upon the death of the USA on a public platform but yolo [you only live once] i guess.”
On May 17, 2022, Mohammed tweeted that America is a “genocidal country.”
Mohammed retweeted an August 27, 2021 that said: “having an american flag in your bio/location is adjacent to having the israeli to me you are all t£rr0r1sts to me 🤣.”
On May 27, 2022, Mohammed tweeted referring to America as “Amerikkka” claiming its “culture breeds a ravenous militant appetite for death and mass destruction.”
The term “Amerikkka” uses the initials of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) as a way to demonize America as “fascist or racist.”
Mohammad promoted violence, spread hatred of Israel and the police, honored Hamas financiers and showed support for BDS when she was a featured speaker at CUNY Law’s commencement ceremony on May 12, 2023.
In her speech, Mohammed said [01:20:30]: “In this moment of celebrating who we are I want to celebrate CUNY Law as one of the few, if not the only, law school to make a public statement defending the right of its students to organize and speak out against Israeli settler colonialism.”
Mohammed continued and said [01:20:59]: “That this is the law school that passed and endorsed BDS on a student and faculty level, recognizing that absent a critical imperialism settler colonialism lens, our work and the school’s mission statement is void of value. That as Israel continues to indiscriminately rain bullets and bombs on worshippers, murdering the old, the young, attacking even funerals and graveyards as it encourages lynch mobs to target Palestinian homes and businesses, as it imprisons its children, as it continues its project of settler colonialism, expelling Palestinians from their homes, carrying the ongoing Nakba, that our silence is no longer acceptable.”
Mohammed further added [01:21:59]: “We are the student body and faculty that fought back when investor-focused admin attempted to cross the BDS picket line saying loud and clear that Palestine can no longer be an exemption to our pursuit of justice, that our morality will not be purchased by investors.”
Mohammed went on to refer [01:23:06] to “CUNY Central” and described [01:23:08] it as “an institution that continues to fail us, that continues to train and cooperate with the fascist NYPD, the military, that continues to train IDF [Israel Defense Forces] soldiers to carry out that same violence globally.”
The accusation that Israeli law enforcement teaches American police brutal tactics during police exchange programs is used to demonize Israel. Participants in these programs have stated [00:02:14] that the training in Israel focuses [00:13:36] on public policy, counterterrorism and leadership training in the form of lectures and discussions.
Mohammed also urged [01:25:40] the class of 2023 to remember “that there are Palestinian political prisoners like HLF in U.S prisons…”
The Holy Land Five (HLF5) were five individuals associated with the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) indicted for funneling funds to Hamas in the guise of humanitarian aid. The men were all convicted and sentenced in 2009 to federal prison terms ranging from 15 to 65 years.
Mohammed later praised [01:26:21] the “joy and excitement” and the “rage that fills this auditorium,” saying [01:26:41]: “May it be the fuel for the fight against capitalism, racism, imperialism, and Zionism around the world.”
Mohammed continued [01:26:51]: “No one person will save the world. No single movement will liberate the masses. Those who brought the ferocity of the violence, those who carry the revolution, the people, the masses, those who brought the ferocity of the violence, those who need our protection, they will carry this revolution. The revolution that lives so loudly despite not being televised.”
Mohammed, shortly before concluding the speech, said [01:27:35] that she wanted her “rights” to be attained “by any means necessary.”
Mohammed glorified [00:29:43] terrorists and called [00:32:08] for Israel’s destruction as she spoke at an April 20, 2022 WOL rally.
The WOL rally was titled: “NYC EMERGENCY RALLY TO SUPPORT PALESTINIAN RESISTANCE & LIBERATION BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.” The rally was held outside the Israeli consulate in Manhattan, which WOL called the “Zionist mission.”
At the end of March and beginning of April 2022, Palestinian terrorists killed 14 Israelis in a number of attacks.
Mohammed started her speech by saying [00:29:43]: “So, I come to you all today with a very, very short message, and that is: glory to the martyrs, glory to the resistance, glory to Palestinian men fighting on the land. Glory to each and every single person throwing the stones.”
Although romanticized as a form of “popular resistance,” rock throwing remains a deadly form of violence.
Mohammed continued and said [00:30:59]: “االلهم انصر اهل فلسطین [Oh God, help the people of Palestine]... اللهم انصر المجاهدين في سبيل الله [Oh God, grant victory to the Mujahideen (jihad fighters) for the sake of God]. اللهم اجعل نار المسلمين تحرق على الاعداء [Oh God, make the fire of Muslims burn on the enemies].”
Mohammed then concluded [00:32:08]: “And the last reminder of today is: greater empires have crumbled beneath our feet! And Israel… you will crumble too! It’s a matter of time!... By the glory to the Resistance, it will happen!”
At the same rally, fellow WOL activist Saadah Masoud repeatedly punched and kicked Matt Greenman, a Jewish man who was waving an Israeli flag. Masoud stole the flag and gave it to WOL activists who burned the flag while walking at the front of the march.
Saadah Masoud later received an 18-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to participating in a conspiracy to commit violent hate crimes against Jews in April 2022, June 2021 and May 2021.
Mohammed spread [00:14:45] hatred of Israel, Zionists [00:16:42] and [00:18:13] America when she was a featured speaker at a March 30, 2022 WOL rally. She also led [00:18:26] anti-Israel chants at the rally. She represented [00:14:20] CUNY Law SJP when she spoke.
The rally was organized by WOL explicitly to target “all Zionist settler orgs in our city and worldwide!”.
At the rally, Mohammed said [00:14:45]: “I come to you to ask you that you must not rely on the moral consciousness of a country [Israel] built on genocide, a country that has inflicted every single form of violence you can think of on native indigenous people, on black people, on Latino people…You must not rely on the blood that they sell, on Palestinian blood.”
Mohammed then said [00:15:36]: “You must understand that the same forces bombing my people in Yemen, incarcerating Black people in this country, are the same forces that are killing Palestinians. [They] are the same forces that are bombing them to the ground.”
Mohammed went on to say [00:16:42]: “If you're part of an institution, if you're part of a school, demand! Demand that Palestine is in the curriculum. Demand that you are not funding this genocide. Demand that Zionist professors are not welcomed on your campus! Demand that Zionist students are not in spaces where Palestinian students are, because Zionism is a threat! Zionism is a genocidal threat to us!”
Later, Mohammed said [00:18:13]: “We are… the ones that can't defend our land in this islamophobic genocidal country [America] you must not rely on the media or the government to find your will to fight!”
Mohammed then concluded by leading [00:18:26] the chants: “Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel's crimes!” and [00:18:43]: “If we don't get no justice, then they don't get no peace!”
Mohammed celebrated [00:23:20] violence and led [00:24:27] a chant that called for Israel’s destruction as she spoke at a May 15, 2021 WOL rally.
The rally was titled: “Nakba 73. Defend Palestine!” and was held in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Mohammed addressed the crowd at the rally and said [00:22:45]: “... I would like to extend my greetings to those that made today possible. From ‘48 [1948] to this very day. I want to send my peace to the revolutionaries of ‘48 and the revolutionaries since that day until today.”
Mohammed then continued and said [00:23:20]: “To every revolutionary picking up a rock… We hear you and we are pained by your pain!”
Mohammed then said [00:24:01]: “Our resistance will not be policed. We will not rely on the moral consciousness of a nation [Israel] built on genocide to wake up. A nation that celebrates genocide with gratitude.”
Mohammed concluded [00:24:27] by leading the chant: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!”
On April 19, 2024, Mohammed was featured [00:05:11] in a YouTube video leading protesters at the Columbia encampment in chanting: “Say it loud, say it clear, we don’t want no Zionists here…”
On May 1, 2024, Mohammed said [00:01:51] at a press conference at Columbia about students who were arrested: “We salute those brave autonomous students and we salute each and every single person standing up to this genocidal machine.” She continued [00:02:13]: “...we are protesting to end this genocide, we are protesting to call for a dismantling of Zionism which includes complete divestment.”
On April 17, 2024, Columbia students and anti-Israel activists set up a pro-Hamas “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on the university's main lawn. Many participants were arrested and the encampment featured multiple violent incidents, including taking over a campus building and taking a university worker hostage.
Activists protested Israel’s war against Hamas and demanded that Columbia “divest from companies and institutions that profit from Israeli apartheid, genocide and occupation…”
The action had reportedly been planned for months and was organized by the Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD) coalition. The encampment was also organized by Columbia’s banned pro-Hamas activist group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and the university chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Activists reportedly received training from National SJP and other anti-Israel organizations.
Within Our Lifetime (WOL) is a pro-terror activist group in New York City dedicated to Israel’s destruction within the lifetime of its members.
Acts of violence and physical confrontations with police have frequently occurred at WOL protests and marches. WOL uses harassment campaigns to target pro-Israel organizations or companies that do business with Israel, making it a part of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Multiple activists who have either burned Israeli flags or led chants at WOL rallies were later jailed for violent anti-Semitic hate crimes, including Saadah Masoud and Waseem Awawdeh. In Masoud’s case, he received 18 months in jail for an anti-Semitic assault at an April 2022 WOL rally and two other anti-Semitic assaults in 2021.
WOL promotes “resistance” against Israel “by any means necessary,” calls to “Globalize the Intifada,” spreads incitement and idolizes [00:34:06] Palestinian terrorists like Leila Khaled and others at rallies and online events.
WOL was founded by Nerdeen Kiswani and Dan Cione in 2015. Kiswani is a frequent speaker at WOL rallies where she has promoted terrorism against Israelis and called for the death of Zionists. She has also provided support for Masoud and other activists following their arrests.
WOL began as the New York City chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), going by NYC SJP, but changed its name in 2018. The group is not found to be registered in any U.S. state as a nonprofit organization under its official name. Nor is there any listing for WOL under its name on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for tax-exempt organizations.
SJP is the leading student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses. The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian, who has spread anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campus campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks and pushing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, and SJP chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for terrorists.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
