Ahmed Husain
Ahmed Husain has expressed support for violence in America, glorified Hamas terrorists and promoted hatred of America and the police as a leader in the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
Ahmed Husain has also called for the destruction of Israel and spread hatred of Zionism. He is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. In addition, the DSA has praised America's enemies and spread anti-Semitism.
As of August 2025, Husain was listed as a member of the DSA's National Political Committee (NPC). He had been a member of the DSA since 2017.
Husain expressed support for the 2025 New York City mayoral candidate and DSA member Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani's anti-America and far-left activist network, which includes the DSA, helped him win the 2025 Democratic Party primary. He won the general election in November 2025.
DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. Notable members are activist Linda Sarsour and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
In July 2025, Husain said [00:06:09] in an interview that he worked as an engineer and was located in New York, New York.
Husain immigrated [00:06:05; 01:01:17] to the U.S. "about a decade ago" from Bahrain.
As of August 2025, Husain used the handles "@ahmed4free" and "@waishda" on his two X accounts.
On May 22, 2025, Husain wrote on X: "f**k you," in response to a post from NYC-DSA that said: "...We reject the violence of last night's fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers..."
On May 21, 2025, two Israeli embassy staff members, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were fatally shot outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. Elias Rodriguez, who shouted "Free, Free Palestine!" as he was arrested, was charged with "two counts of first-degree murder" and "two federal counts of hate crime."
On November 5, 2024, Husain posted on X, referring to America: "...We must build up the societal fabric and resistance that will break this empire and fight for liberation."
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
On October 7, 2023, the day Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, Husain posted on X in Arabic: "من فلسطين الحرة للعالم دروس في المقاومة ودروس في الذل والانبطاح من كل مطيع عربي [From free Palestine to the world, lessons in resistance and lessons in humiliation and submission from every obedient Arab.]"
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.
For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
On September 25, 2024, Husain posted on X, referring to the "Axis of Resistance": "all lebanon has is its resistance. all gaza has is its resistance. you don't get to qualify resistance... there's no western conscience to awaken to stop this genocide, only resistance."
The Axis of Resistance is an informal coalition of Iran-backed paramilitary actors in the Middle East created in the 1980s. The network includes Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Shiite militia groups in Iraq and Syria. Axis members receive arms, military training and financial aid from Tehran. The group participated in the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, supported Syria's Assad regime and perpetrated numerous acts of terrorism in the region.
[A stand of pride until the last breath to sow victory in this homeland. Congratulations on your martyrdom, O Abu Ibrahim.]" The post included a clip of drone footage from Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar's final moments. Sinwar was widely known as Abu Ibrahim.
Yahya (Yehiya) Sinwar masterminded the October 7, 2023 terror attacks on Israel and had been a Hamas leader since the 1980s. Sinwar was nicknamed the “Butcher of Khan Younis” after he admitted to killing 12 suspected Palestinian “collaborators,” and in 1989 was sentenced to four life terms in Israeli prison for crimes including the killing of two Israeli soldiers.
In 2011, Sinwar was released by Israel to Gaza following the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal and resumed his leadership role in Hamas. On October 17, 2024, the Israel Defense Forces eliminated Sinwar in Gaza.
On June 12, 2025, Husain posted on X: "...this is a fight for liberation from the decaying fascist American empire."
On January 15, 2025, Husain posted on X: "silly to watch the two genocidal parties of the genocidal united states of america argue over which of them put an end to the genocide they were carrying out together."
On September 11, 2024, Husain posted on X, referring to the U.S.: "...you cannot cure empire of bloodlust, you can only kill it."
On June 16, 2023, Husain posted on X: "...down with the US empire."
On February 11, 2022, Husain posted on X, referring to America: "the banality of how evil empire is..."
On April 24, 2024, Husain posted on X: "We will root out Zionism from this country. / We'll root it out of every campus and every city until it has nowhere left to run..."
On July 28, 2024, Husain posted on X in Arabic: "لابد ان تكون الاشتراكية وقفة عز ضد التطبيع والصهيونية لكن تخادل اليسار الغربي في قضية فلسطين تاريخ يكرر نفسه في كل حقبة.ي جب محاربة الصهاينة والإمبريالية في كل مضمار لكن النصر لن يأتي الا من ساحة القتال [Socialism must be a stance of dignity against normalization and Zionism, but the Western left's hesitation on the Palestine issue is a history that repeats itself in every era. Zionists and imperialism must be fought in every arena, but victory will only come from the battlefield]."
On November 2, 2024, while Husain was a DSA member, the group posted on X: "Cuba’s resilience is legendary, but the U.S. blockade’s toll is relentless...Join our campaign to stand with Cuba..."
On October 22, 2020, DSA posted on X: "Russia is not the problem. China is not the problem. The problem is a global system of capitalism..."
On March 11, 2024, while Husain was a DSA member, the group posted on X: "'For decades, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has been a hawkish, warmongering, and bullying force in U.S. politics.'"
The stated mission of AIPAC is to “strengthen, protect and promote the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance the security of the United States and Israel.”
The implication that AIPAC buys political support for Israel has been described as playing into “anti-Semitic tropes” that led to “centuries of stereotypes about Jews using money to control the world.”
Husain has been a member of the DSA since 2017. He previously served as the co-chair of Denver DSA.
Husain is also a member of Springs of Revolution (SOR), a political grouping within DSA. SOR's stated aim is to transform DSA "into a mass revolutionary force advancing anti-imperialist politics with Palestine as our compass!"
Husain has been endorsed by Emerge, a "multi-tendency communist caucus of DSA," and has contributed to Partisan, a publication of the Emerge caucus.
On June 24, 2025, Husain posted on X: "congratulations to @DemSocialists and all of our comrades, especially @nycDSA and Mayor @ZohranKMamdani, for pulling off a historic upset! this win only happens because thousands of DSA members poured their lives into this campaign."
On the same date, Husain posted on X, referring to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "...if Zohran can win mayor of NYC while promising to arrest bibi and globalise the intifada, mark whatever can win his school board election without sucking Israel's d**k."
The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
On June 20, 2025, Husain posted on X: "As we head to the finish line, remember Zohran's success is because he's accountable to and rooted in a mass movement..."
On March 19, 2025, Husain posted on X: "shia socialists bringing america to its knees." This was in reference to a post from @AsadFromNYC that said: "Zohran Mamdani, a social progressive of Shia background, has been warmly welcomed at a different Sunni masjid *every* Friday in areas where Trump made gains..."
Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is America’s largest socialist organization. Its core ideology includes anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Western and abolitionist elements.
Following the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks against Israel, DSA condemned Israel, expressed support for Hamas, endorsed anti-Israel rallies and called for members to engage in anti-Israel activism. It condemned Israeli retaliatory attacks against the IRGC and Hezbollah, as well as the U.S. attacks against the Houthi terror organization, whose slogan reads: "...Death to America / Death to Israel / A Curse upon the Jews...”
DSA first endorsed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in 2017 and it has also condemned sanctions against countries like Iran and Cuba.
The group endorses far-left politicians on the local, state and federal levels. DSA also promotes anti-Israel agitators, including DSA members Rashida Tlaib, Zohran Mamdani and Linda Sarsour.
Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), DSA’s youth section active in high schools and colleges, has co-organized anti-Israel protests across the U.S. since October 7, 2023, particularly the April 2024 pro-terror encampments on university campuses.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
