Waed Elaarag
Overview
Waed Elaarag [Waed Elaaraj] has called for the return of Hitler, supported a terrorist and spread Israel hatred. She was the 2016 Vice-President of Fundraising for the Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) at Concordia University (Concordia). SPHR is an affiliate of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).As of January 21, 2018, Elaarag’s LinkedIn said she was senior at Concordia, majoring in Industrial Engineering.
Elaarag spells her name “Waed Elaaraj” on Facebook, as well as on Concordia's SPHR club site.
Calling for Hitler
On May 13, 2013, Elaarag tweeted “israel attacks syria, its times like this when i wish hitler would rise from the dead.”Supporting a Terrorist
On April 7, 2014, Elaarag tweeted “#pride” that “palestinians,tunasians,saudis&arabs all around the world hacking into israel's systems for the freedom of samer alessawi.”Samer Issawi is a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) who received a 26-year prison sentence in 2002. During the second intifada, Issawi manufactured and distributed pipe bombs and fired indiscriminately on Israeli civilian vehicles. In December 2013, Issawi called for the kidnapping of Israelis, saying: “The [Palestinian] prisoners' release will be brought about by kidnapping and [prisoner] exchanges. Nothing will happen without that.”
SPHR Concordia
SPHR Concordia was formed in 1999 via a merger between the Concordia Centre for Palestinian Human Rights (CCPHR) at Concordia and the Palestinian Solidarity Committee (PSC) at McGill University.SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
