Shams Rupak

Shams Rupak reportedly signed an anti-Israel statement in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

The January 15, 2024 statement Shams Rupak signed accused Israel of an “ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza” as well as “apartheid [and] ethnic cleansing,” during its war against Hamas.

Signatories were affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY), and the statement sought to develop “a SUNY-wide Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Movement…at all 64 SUNY campuses.”

As of April 2026, Shams Rupak's LinkedIn said he graduated from Stony Brook University (SBU) with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and statistics in May 2025. SBU is part of the SUNY system and is located in Stony Brook, New York.

Also as of April 2026, Shams Rupak's LinkedIn said he was studying for a master's degree in "engineering artificial intelligence" at SBU, slated to graduate in December 2026.
