Roan Wade

On October 28, 2023, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, Roan Wade was arrested on criminal trespassing charges during an anti-Israel protest on the Dartmouth campus.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.

Dartmouth president Sian Leah Beilock said in an email statement, referring to Wade and another activist that was arrested, that “the situation changed when two students...threatened in writing to ‘escalate and take further action,’ including ‘physical action,’ if their demands were not met.”

Beilock's email also said that Dartmouth "attempted to negotiate with the student protestors for over six hours on Friday night before she and other College administrators asked Hanover Police Department for assistance" and that campus security must consider the threat of “physical action” as “a threat of violence.”

On September 4, 2023, Wade published an op-ed in the Dartmouth Radical, in which Wade said: "...revolutionary action does not always mean throwing Molotov cocktails or blowing up dams. I say this not to discourage these types of Action necessarily..."

In the same article, Wade also wrote: “So whether you blow up a pipeline or support mutual aid to provide for your community...take action to ignite the revolution in your daily life and take action to burn s**t to the f**king ground.”

On May 28, 2025, Roan Wade was reportedly suspended by Dartmouth following an anti-Israel "sit-in" protest on campus, during which a Department of Safety and Security officer and a president’s office staff member were reportedly hurt.

In a letter sent to Wade, co-interim Dean of the College, Anne Hudak, reportedly wrote that Wade had been temporarily suspended "out of concern for the safety of the community and functioning of the educational environment.”

Hudak further wrote: "Since October 2023, you have engaged in a series of behaviors that have violated the College’s Standards of Conduct and resulted in disciplinary sanctions... You have continued to engage in these behaviors despite the College’s response. Your alleged behaviors on May 28, 2025, represent a significant escalation in the threat to community safety and functioning.”

Following the "sit-in" protest, the Dartmouth New Deal Coalition posted a statement that said [slide 6]: "There is only one solution! Intifada! Revolution!"

The term “intifada” translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection” and carries the connotation of terrorist violence, including suicide bombings, hijackings, shootings and stabbings.

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
