Othman Alaansi
Othman Alaansi [Othman Ali Alaansi] is a Michigan politician who participated in the 2025 People’s Conference for Palestine, a pro-terror event held to plan America’s destruction from within. Alaansi has also called for Israel's destruction and spread hatred of Israel online.
The People's Conference for Palestine in 2024 and 2025 were held in Detroit, Michigan. Its website says: "Gaza is the compass!...Zionism and imperialism [U.S.] are waging a continuous genocide on Gaza, and we, the people of the world, will fight at every turn to reject it." After years of accusing Israel of "genocide," activists kept on promoting this "blood libel" on October 8, 2023.
In October 2025, the Midwest chapter of the Council On American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Action, CAIR Action Midwest, endorsed Alaansi as a candidate for a seat on the Dearborn City Council in Dearborn, Michigan.
In September 2025, Othman posted on Facebook that he "Revived" the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Henry Ford College (HFC). Alaansi was also reportedly affiliated with the MSA during his high school years.
Alaansi has maintained ties to Rashida Tlaib since at least 2019.
Rashida Tlaib was elected to the U.S. Congress in November 2018. She has advocated for a one-state solution, endorsed the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement and called for reduced foreign aid to Israel. In July 2019, Tlaib co-sponsored a pro-BDS bill in the U.S. Congress introduced by Rep. Ilhan Omar.
In April 2026, Alaansi posted on Instagram that he had "officially filed to run for State Representative" in the primary election for the Michigan House of Representatives District 3, representing Dearborn and parts of Detroit."
As of June 2026, Alaansi's Facebook said he was located in Dearborn, Michigan.
