In a May 13, 2010 video posted on YouTube by University of California Television entitled "Achieving a Just Peace in the Middle East," Barghouti said [00:13:10]: "...Israel controls pretty much about 83%-84% of the land and the Palestinians have ownership or control of very small areas..." and said [00:13:51] "...so you have to take that into account when thinking of why Palestinians behave the way they do, why violence erupts..."

Later in the video, Barghouti said [00:36:48]: "From 1993 to 2005, Palestinians lost even more land and nothing really positive happened. Their economy went down, the poverty went up, so in spite of all the rhetoric, their situation became worse. That gave rise to much more popularity of the Islamic resistance, Hamas."

Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and antisemitic violence.

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. It is a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, has promoted antisemitism on religious grounds, and has called for a global caliphate and the destruction of the State of Israel.

Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians in mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has kidnapped children, families and the elderly, holding them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

In a May 13, 2010 video posted on YouTube by University of California Television entitled "Achieving a Just Peace in the Middle East," Barghouti said [00:26:57]: "...The issue of occupying the West Bank, Gaza, and east Jerusalem is a huge issue. It's not going to go away. The U.S. cannot just accept it, because if it does that, it will be destroying the international world order which was established after World War II to exactly prevent the occurrences of a Nazi Germany occupying Poland and then staying there and saying, 'now it's mine.'"

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

Later in the video, Barghouti said [00:43:13]: "...All the notions of a holocaust, victimization, we're seeing images that are reminiscent of them...there are certain images that even Israelis have been so troubled by and they said, 'come on, doesn't this look like Auschwitz?'"

Anti-Israel activists compare Israel to Nazi Germany to insinuate that the plight of Palestinians has eclipsed Jewish suffering during the Holocaust.

Established in 1940 and located in German-occupied Poland, Auschwitz-Birkenau (Auschwitz) was the largest complex of concentration and extermination camps operated by Nazi Germany during World War II and the Holocaust. At Auschwitz, over one million people were murdered and 90% of the victims were Jews.

In a May 13, 2010 video posted on YouTube by University of California Television entitled "Achieving a Just Peace in the Middle East," Barghouti said [00:21:00]: "...What the...pro-Israel lobby in the U.S. has done, in a very masterful way, which is use the U.S. system of governance that we have that allows for lobbying, actually to the max..."

The “Israel Lobby” is a conspiracy theory alleging Israeli and Jewish control over the U.S. government. Proponents of the theory decry the negative effects on American interests, particularly in foreign policy.

Barghouti continued [00:22:12] "...So it's extremely difficult in the U.S. to have a senator or a congressperson come out and be even. Not even pro-Palestinian. Even. It's very difficult. It's almost like political suicide."

In the same video, Barghouti told a joke and said [00:23:05]: "The prime minister of Israel meets the president of the U.S. and he said, the president of the U.S. said, 'Mr. Prime Minister, would Israel like to be the 51st state?' And the prime minister says, 'No thanks, Mr. President.' 'Why not?' 'Well, if we become a state we'll only have two senators." Barghouti added: "Israel has much more support than two senators."

The assertion that Jews secretly control Western governments through banking and finance is traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a fabricated antisemitic text portraying wealthy Jews as conspiring to take over the world. This conspiracy theory is often accompanied by imagery like Nazi cartoons that depicted Jews as octopuses encircling the globe.

In a May 13, 2010 video posted on YouTube by University of California Television entitled "Achieving a Just Peace in the Middle East," Barghouti about Israel said [00:40:55]: "...I think there's no debate that it's apartheid."

Later in the video, Barghouti said [00:45:53]: "...Israeli Jews and Palestinians who live on the same land live an extremely unequal existence. Much worse than, let's say, the difference between African-Americans and white Americans in the U.S. or Latinos and white Americans in the U.S. Much, much, much worse, okay? It's a situation very reminiscent of the pre-civil rights era of complete segregation,,."

Barghouti also said [00:19:35] in the video: "...The U.S. has really in the last 30 years funded this occupation."

Anti-Israel activists spread antisemitism by denying Jewish history and religious rights to the Land of Israel in order to portray Jews as foreigners. They do this to delegitimize restored Jewish sovereignty and terms they use include accusing Israel of "colonialism," "occupation," and "imperialism."

As of August 2026, Barghouti was listed on the FEC website as having donated $275,000 to American Priorities.

As of the same date, Barghouti was listed on the FEC website as having donated the congressional campaigns of multiple Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) candidates, including Claire Valdez, Darializa Avila Chevalier, and Donavan McKinney. Chevalier has spread hatred of America and expressed support for terrorists.

DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 251 and wounded thousands. War crimes included various systematic sexual crimes like gang rape and genital mutilation. Men and women were violated, even after being murdered. Victims who survived that day, including hostages, endured forms of humiliation and torture.

Gazans working in the targeted Israeli villages provided intelligence to Hamas on which families to kill and torture, including long-time employers. Many Palestinian civilians joined in and celebrated the attacks. Hamas livestreamed their crimes on social media, including to victims’ accounts for families to see. The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
