” on Twitter.4/20/2022 - “By Any Means Necessary” WOL Rally
On April 20, 2022, Odeh participated [00:58:36] in a WOL rally where he expressed [00:45:05] support for violent anti-Israel agitator Saadah Masoud. The rally, titled: “NYC EMERGENCY RALLY TO SUPPORT PALESTINIAN RESISTANCE & LIBERATION BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY,” took place at the Israeli consulate in New York City, which WOL called the “ZIONIST MISSION.”Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.
At the rally, Odeh stood [slide 6] on a traffic light post waving a Palestinian flag bearing the name of the pro-terror activist group Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, which is listed as a terror organization by the Israeli government.
During the rally, Suleiman Othman, another anti-Israel agitator, as well as Masoud, spotted [00:44:21] a man with a crutch walking [00:44:39] alone in front of them and wearing an Israeli flag on his back.
Masoud and Othman both began shouting insults at the man and following him. Masoud sped up to reach the man, while Odeh, holding a Palestinian flag, and another activist ran [00:45:05] toward them. The victim was thrown [00:00:01] to the ground, beaten and reportedly kicked in the face during the assault.
Odeh can also be seen [00:58:36] later in the march, appearing in the center of the screen holding a Palestinian flag with his left arm.
5/15/2021 - WOL Nakba Day Rally
On May 15, 2021, Odeh led [00:07:13] anti-Israel chants during a May 15, 2021, WOL rally in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, titled: “Nakba 73. Defend Palestine!”The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.
Palestinians commemorate the so-called “Nakba Day” on May 15, corresponding to the day following Israel’s declaration of statehood in 1948.
During the rally, while sitting on a traffic light post and waving a Palestinian flag, Odeh led [00:07:13] the chant: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
Odeh continued [00:07:26], leading the chants: “Free, Free Palestine!” and [00:07:33]: “عالقدس رايحيمم شهداء بالملايين [Millions of martyrs are marching to Jerusalem],” as well as [00:08:20]: “Be-ruh, be-dam, nifdik ya, Aqsa! [With spirit, with blood, we will redeem you, Aqsa!],” which honors martyrdom as a means to “redeem” Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque. This chant was popularized by terrorist leader Yasser Arafat.
The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.
The next day, Odeh posted on Facebook photos that showed different moments of his participation in the protest.
At the protest, anti-Israel protesters held signs that said [00:06:21]: “Zionists are Nazis” and [00:06:40]: “F**k Israel. All my homies hate Israel. #FreePalestine.” They also chanted [00:06:52]: “Israel is a crime!”
Anti-Israel activists later chanted [00:27:34]: “5,6,7,8, Israel is a terrorist state!”
5/14/2021 - “All Eyes on Palestine” WOL Rally
On May 14, 2021, Odeh participated in a WOL rally titled: “All Eyes on Palestine.” He stomped [00:00:02] on an Israeli flag and celebrated [00:00:37] its burning, as well as shouted [00:03:56] anti-Israel chants multiple times [00:05:16]. The rally took place New York City. While marching at the head of the rally with pro-terror agitator and founder of WOL, Nerdeen Kiswani, Odeh chanted [00:03:56]: “There is only one solution! Intifada revolution!” He can be seen on the left side of the screen using his cellphone.
Odeh then chanted [00:04:27] with Kiswani and other rally participants: “From New York to Gaza, globalize the intifada!”
The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
“Globalize the Intifada” is an anti-Israel campaign launched by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) in the summer of 2021, intended as an “ongoing strike at the heart of empire [sic] with Palestine as its compass.” The movement seeks to “break free from the genocidal grip of U.S. imperialism and Zionism” and advocates “liberation by any means necessary.”
Odeh continued marching at the head of the rally while chanting [00:04:52]: “Zionists you will learn! Refugees will return!”
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
Odeh later chanted [00:05:16]: “It is right to rebel! Israel, go to hell!” and [00:05:48]: “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!”
Later at the rally, Odeh stomped [00:00:02] on an Israeli flag while dancing on it with a group of anti-Israel activists. He later celebrated [00:00:37] while an Israeli flag was set on fire.
Promoting Incitement
On May 11, 2021, at the beginning of Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),Odeh tweeted: “Self defense is considered terrorism according to the @newyorkpost / #Palestine #SaveSheikhJarrah.”
Odeh was responding to a New York Post tweet from the same day that reported: “Palestinian terrorists fire rockets into Israel as violent clashes continue.”
Odeh retweeted a May 10, 2021 tweet that said: “Israel is bombing Gaza. Israel is attacking Al-Aqsa. Israel is brutalizing Palestinian demonstrators. Israel is carrying out ethnic cleansing in occupied East Jerusalem [Sheikh Jarrah].”
Support for Terrorism
As of May 2024, Odeh’s main Instagram and Threads bios featured an inverted red triangle. The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It first appeared in propaganda videos produced by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, during its terror attacks of October 7, 2023. The symbol was used by Hamas to signify one of their Israeli targets.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation. Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, over 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.
On August 9, 2022, Odeh tweeted: “يرحم روحك يا شهيد [(May God) have mercy on your soul, oh martyr],” in response to a post asking God to grant terrorist Ibrahim Nabulsi “the highest levels of Jannah [paradise].”
Ibrahim Al-Nabulsi, a “commander” of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, was known as “the lion of Nablus.” On August 9, 2022, he was killed [p. 5] in a gun battle with Israeli forces. The Brigade is listed as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. State Department.
Hatred of Israel
On July 1, 2020, Odeh posted on TikTok a video in which he raised his middle finger to a man holding an Israeli flag while saying to him: “کس امک[f**k your mother]!”The incident took place during a pro-Israel gathering in Brooklyn, New York.
Odeh retweeted a November 17, 2020 tweet that said: “Israel isn’t a country…”
During OGW, Odeh retweeted a May 11, 2021 tweet that said: “Apparently Palestinians must accept all abuse, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and theft of their homes and land…The truth is that Israel is the real terrorist.”
On April 15, 2022, “Nakba Day,” Odeh tweeted: “If you support ‘Israel’ in any way do me a favor and unfollow and block me.”
WOL
Within Our Lifetime (WOL) is a pro-terror activist group in New York City dedicated to Israel’s destruction within the lifetime of its members.Acts of violence and physical confrontations with police have frequently occurred at WOL protests and marches. WOL uses harassment campaigns to target pro-Israel organizations or companies that do business with Israel, making it a part of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Multiple activists who have either burned Israeli flags or led chants at WOL rallies were later jailed for violent anti-Semitic hate crimes, including Saadah Masoud and Waseem Awawdeh. In Masoud’s case, he received 18 months in jail for an anti-Semitic assault at an April 2022 WOL rally and two other anti-Semitic assaults in 2021.
WOL promotes “resistance” against Israel “by any means necessary,” calls to “Globalize the Intifada,” spreads incitement and idolizes [00:34:06] Palestinian terrorists like Leila Khaled and others at rallies and online events.
WOL was founded by Nerdeen Kiswani and Dan Cione in 2015. Kiswani is a frequent speaker at WOL rallies where she has promoted terrorism against Israelis and called for the death of Zionists. She has also provided support for Masoud and other activists following their arrests.
WOL began as the New York City chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), going by NYC SJP, but changed its name in 2018. The group is not found to be registered in any U.S. state as a nonprofit organization under its official name. Nor is there any listing for WOL under its name on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for tax-exempt organizations.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
