Mido Ali

Overview

Mido Ali has spread conspiracy theories, defended the terror organization Hamas, expressed support for terrorists and spread hatred of Israel on Twitter.

Ali was an activist with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Brooklyn College (Brooklyn), part of City University of New York (CUNY) (Brooklyn SJP), in 2015 and 2016.

In 2017, Ali indicated on Facebook that he had graduated from Brooklyn.

Spreading Conspiracy Theories

On May 27, 2015, Ali tweeted: “...Google Is owned by the jews buddy.”

Also on May 27, 2015, Ali tweeted a graphic of a series of infamous photos of Mohammed al-Dura and wrote: “...I don't need Google #NeverForget.”

The Al-Durah hoax is an iconic piece of anti-Israel propaganda, fabricated on September 30, 2000 at the start of the Second Intifada by a France 2 reporter.

Defending Hamas

On May 27, 2015, Ali tweeted: “hamas was democratically elected. Without Hamas there is no Army to protect an area that is oppressed by Israeli forces.”

Hamas is a designatedterrorist organizationby the European Union, Canada, Australia, the United States and Israel.

Hamas is notorious for its uncompromising stance on the destruction of Israel. Hamas is also dedicated to murdering Jews worldwide — and teaches children to hate and kill Jews.

Also on May 27, 2015, a day after a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel, Ali tweeted: “...last year Israel agreed that Hamas was not behind the 3 kids murder and this time Hamas denies rockets”

Hamas was responsible for the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers from a bus stop on June 12, 2014. The abducted boys were murdered by their captors, and their bodies were found buried in Palestinian-controlled territory on June 30, 2014.

That same day, Ali also tweeted: “...also the Rockets fired into Israel, if any, are much weaker than the drones and bombs used on Gaza.”

Supporting Terrorists

On October 8, 2015, Ali participated in a “die-in,” held by Brooklyn SJP. The group’s Facebook page said the die-in was “in solidarity with Palestine’s call” for an international “Day of Rage.”

The “Days of Rage” in October of 2015 were heralded by Hamas as the advent of a new intifada. They directly resulted in the deaths of Israeli civilians by shootings, stabbings and car rammings.

Brooklyn SJP’s Facebook post also claimed that the “Day of Rage” was prompted by “...recent israeli aggression [sic.] against Palestinians, including the murder of ...19-year-old Fadi Alloun in cold blood, execution style.”

Fadi Aloon was shot by Israeli security forces after he stabbed a 15-year-old Israeli boy. Several hours before the attack, Aloon posted “Either martyrdom or victory” on his Facebook page.

In October 2015, there was an upsurge in violence across Israel incited by Palestinian political and religious leaders. The wave of stabbings, known as the “Knife Intifada,” was characterized by young Palestinians throughout the country stabbing and attempting to stab Israeli civilians.

On October 8, 2015, Ali was tagged in a Facebook photo of the Brooklyn SJP “die-in,” shared by Brooklyn SJP. The photo showed Ali and other SJP activists wearing costumes that had messages demonizing Israel. The activists created a “human apartheid wall” on campus, meant to demonize Israel’s security barrier.

Israel’s security barrier, 97 percent of which is a low chain-link barrier, was built as a deterrent to Palestinian terror attacks. The concrete portions of the fence were built in response to Palestinian sniper attacks.

Spreading Hatred of Israel

Ali posed for a photo published on Facebook on May 14, 2016, as part of a Brooklyn SJP campaign titled: “In Memory of Al-Nakba.”

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

The photo was featured [00:00:40] in a video produced by Brooklyn SJP, which alleged that the “ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians has been systematically erased.”

On May 27, 2015, Ali tweeted: “...Majority of the world including the Vatican are against Israel in case you wondered.”

On May 26, 2015, Ali tweeted: “...Israel stole most of the land of Palestine...”

Brooklyn SJP Supporting Terrorism 2015-2016

On May 13, 2016, Brooklyn SJP shared an “extremely graphic and disturbing” video to Facebook of Ahmed Manasra and wrote: “Israeli court convicts boy who was mocked on video as he lay injured.”

On October 12, 2015, Ahmed Manasra (sometimes spelled Mansara) and his 15-year-old cousin, Hassan, were engaged in a stabbing spree in Jerusalem. The pair critically wounded a 13-year-old Israeli boy and moderately wounded a 25-year-old man.

Manasra was wounded. He later admitted to investigators “I went there to stab Jews” and was later tried and convicted on two counts of attempted murder.

On April 28, 2016, Brooklyn SJP shared to Facebook an AJ+ video sympathetic to Dima Al-Wawi, who had been imprisoned for attempting to stab a security guard at the Jewish community of Karmei Tzur.

Al-Wawi reportedly also claimed that she intended to kill the guard and hoped to die in the process: “I was dreaming that I was going to be martyred.”

On October 8, 2015, during the “Knife Intifada,” Brooklyn SJP staged a “die-in,” in front of the campus. The group claimed on Facebook that the event was “in solidarity with Palestine’s call” for “an international ‘Day of Rage.’”

October 2015 saw a wave of stabbings, known as the “Knife Intifada,” where young Palestinians throughout Israel were stabbing and attempting to stab Israeli civilians. The upsurge in violence across Israel was incited by Palestinian political and religious leaders. The attacks were sparked and fueled by Palestinian leaders propagating the libel that Israel intended to desecrate the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

The Facebook event description also referred to “... israeli aggression against Palestinians, including the murder of 17-year old Hadeel Al Hashlamoun, and 19-year-old Fadi Alloun in cold blood, execution style.”

Al Hashlamoun was shot in September 2015, after she reportedly attempted to stab Israeli soldiers.

Fadi Aloon posted “Either martyrdom or victory” to Facebook, hours before he stabbed a 15-year old Israeli boy. Aloon was shot by Israeli security forces after the attack.

The Brooklyn SJP Facebook post featured a photo album of its “die-in” and included a placard claiming Israel’s security barrier was an “Apartheid Wall” that was “30 times the length of Manhattan!” and “Twice as high as the Berlin wall!”

Israel’s security barrier, built as a deterrent to Palestinian terror attacks, is 97% low chain-link barrier. The concrete portions of the fence were built in response to Palestinian sniper attacks

Brooklyn SJP’s Facebook post also referred to another “Day of Rage” event on October 6th, which was co-hosted by American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), NYC SJP and others.
Also on October 8, 2015, during the “Knife Intifada,” Brooklyn SJP posted to Facebook a graphic showing its support for a “third intifada” and referred to the wave of terror as a “spike” in Palestinian “resistance to Israeli oppression.”

Brooklyn SJP Demonizing Israel 2015

On November 27, 2015, Brooklyn SJP shared a video on Facebook featuring a series of misleading maps which presents lands that were previously controlled by Britain, Egypt and Jordan as autonomous “Palestinian land,” that were then stolen by Israel.

Publisher McGraw-Hill Education recalled copies of a textbook that contained the fraudulent maps in February 2016 and U.S. news network MSNBC apologized for using similar maps that they later admitted were “not factually accurate,” in October 2015.

On November 4, 2015, Brooklyn SJP promoted on Facebook the Million Student March (MSM) at CUNY. MSM demanded the abolishment of tuition, cancellation of student debt and a $15.00 an hour wage minimum for all campus workers

On November 12, 2015, NYC SJP posted a statement which blamed rising tuition costs on CUNY’s “Zionist administration.” The statement also claimed that “CUNY aims to produce the next generation of professional Zionists.”

Protesters at MSM chanted [00:00:10]: “Zionists out of CUNY,” as well as “Intifada! Intifada! Long live the intifada!”

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
