Megan Romer
Megan Romer [Megan E. Romer] has expressed support for Hamas terrorism, promoted hatred of America and the police, praised America's enemies and celebrated communist leaders and mass murderers as a leader in the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
Romer has also spread anti-Semitism, expressed hatred of Israel and Zionism and engaged in anti-Israel activism. She is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of July 2025, Romer was listed as the 2023-2025 national co-chair of the National Political Committee (NPC) of the DSA. As of the same date, she was running for a second term as the DSA NPC co-chair. Romer has been organizing with the DSA since 2018.
Romer expressed support for 2025 New York mayoral candidate and DSA member Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani's anti-America and far-left activist network, which includes the DSA, helped him win the 2025 Democratic Party primary. He won the general election in November 2025.
DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. Notable members are activist Linda Sarsour and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
As of July 2025, Romer's LinkedIn profile said she was the editor-in-chief and publisher at Arioso Press.
As of the same date, Romer's Facebook page said she was located in Moravia, New York.
On May 24, 2024, Romer posted on X: "Read on to learn why we do not, in fact, condemn Hamas and why no socialist should..."
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.
On October 9, 2023, two days after Hamas terrorists attacked Israel and while Romer was a DSA member, the group posted on Instagram a statement that said [slide 1]: "DSA is steadfast in expressing our solidarity with Palestine. / Today’s events are a direct result of Israel’s apartheid regime—a regime that receives billions in funding from the United States. / End the violence. End the Occupation. Free Palestine."
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.

“Free Palestine” is a chant that has been described as a "battle cry for the death of Jews.” In May 2025, two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C., were murdered by a gunman shouting “Free Palestine!” In June 2025, one pro-Israel activist was killed and over 25 were injured in Boulder, Colorado, when a man yelling “Free Palestine” firebombed them.
The statement further read [slide 2], referring to Hamas' October 7, 2023 terror attack: "...This was not unprovoked. / For over 60 years, Palestinians have faced ethnic cleansing, torture, bombings, and housing demolitions. Gaza is still under a blockade."
Israel and Egypt implemented a UN-approved [pp. 39–41] joint blockade of the Gaza Strip in 2011 to stop Hamas from acquiring more sophisticated rockets. Hamas went around the blockade by smuggling weaponry through tunnels under the Philadelphi corridor separating Gaza from Egypt.
Romer was featured in an August 3, 2024 Instagram video speaking at the Phoenix, Arizona, branch of the DSA in her role as the national co-chair. During her speech, she referred [00:02:15] to America as "the biggest empire the world has ever known."

On September 27, 2024, while Romer was a DSA member, the group posted on X: "...Biden, Harris, and Netanyahu are all war criminals. Until we win an arms embargo every action of the U.S. war machine must be disrupted."
On October 25, 2023, DSA posted on X, referring to America: "The best tool we have to fight empire is a mass, resilient socialist organization..."
On March 22, 2022, DSA posted on X, referring to the U.S.: "Bringing the fight to win a union to the belly of the beast..."
On May 1, 2024, Romer referred to police officers as "pigs" on X.
On August 24, 2023, Romer posted on X: "Cops...," in response to the question: "Who did your parents teach you to hate as a kid?"
On January 28, 2023, Romer posted on X: "I was an abolitionist before I was a socialist which...makes no sense at all. You can’t have police abolition under capitalism, because police are the armed agents that hold capitalism together."
Romer reposted an August 19, 2025 post on X that said: "...Despite a strengthened blockade and SSOT [State Sponsors of Terrorism] list designation, our country does the unimaginable for those in need. / Such actions are only possible in socialist Cuba, with a revolution by and for the people."
On March 19, 2022, Romer posted on X: "Cuba is the safest place in the world for a Black baby to be born, both for parent and child..."
On October 22, 2020, while Romer was a DSA member, the group posted on X: "Russia is not the problem. China is not the problem. The problem is a global system of capitalism..."
On July 13, 2025, Romer posted on Bluesky, promoting an event organized by the Red Star Caucus, and wrote: "Come read Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Che Guevara..."
Vladimir Lenin (1870-1924) was the communist leader of the Bolshevik Party. He founded Soviet Russia in 1917 and was its dictator until he died in 1924. He was the dictator of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in 1922-1924.
Ernesto "Che" Guevara (1928-1967) was a Latin American Marxist revolutionary and guerrilla leader who played a major role in the Cuban Revolution.
On July 9, 2024, during Israel's war against Hamas, Romer posted on X: "The Israel-lobby-funded US political machine is doing an elaborate, genocidal 'hey look over there'..."
The “Israel Lobby” is a conspiracy theory alleging Israeli and Jewish control over the U.S. government. Proponents of the theory decry the negative effects on American interests, particularly in foreign policy.
On March 11, 2024, while Romer was a DSA member, the group posted on X: "'For decades, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has been a hawkish, warmongering, and bullying force in U.S. politics.'"
The stated mission of AIPAC is to “strengthen, protect and promote the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance the security of the United States and Israel.”
The implication that AIPAC buys political support for Israel has been described as playing into “anti-Semitic tropes” that led to “centuries of stereotypes about Jews using money to control the world.”
Romer reposted a July 21, 2025 post on X that said: "... Zionism will be defeated!"
On October 21, 2024, Romer posted on X: "...look at the real cost of resistance in places like Gaza and Lebanon right now..."
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
On September 17, 2024, thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah terrorists exploded in Lebanon. With regard to casualties, “Twelve persons were reportedly killed…[and] Nearly 3,000 were injured.” Israel admitted responsibility for the attacks in November 2024.
On May 4, 2024, Romer posted on X: "Drinking a green cider at Utah's first (only?) socialist-owned Anti-Zionist bar..."
On January 5, 2024, Romer wrote in an article published in Democratic Left, referring to Israel's war against Hamas: "The ongoing genocide in Gaza is waking more and more people up to capitalism’s most authentic form — violent settler-colonialism..."
On November 12, 2024, the DSA North Texas branch promoted on Instagram their "Weekend of Action with DSA National Co-Chair Megan Romer." The aim of the event was to shut down a Jewish National Fund (JNF) conference taking place in Dallas.
In April 2024, Romer participated in the pro-Hamas encampment at Cornell University (Cornell).
Nearly 200 anti-Israel college encampments were set up in North America in spring 2024. Activists harassed Jews with antisemitic slurs, expressed [slide 5] support [00:02:45] for Hamas terrorism and called [00:04:45] for Israel's destruction. They blocked Jews from campus facilities and limited access to those with special wristbands or who said they weren't a Zionist.
As of July 2025, Romer's X bio said she was a "proud" member of the DSA's Red Star Caucus.

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is America’s largest socialist organization. Its core ideology includes anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Western and abolitionist elements.
Following the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks against Israel, DSA condemned Israel, expressed support for Hamas, endorsed anti-Israel rallies and called for members to engage in anti-Israel activism. It condemned Israeli retaliatory attacks against the IRGC and Hezbollah, as well as the U.S. attacks against the Houthi terror organization, whose slogan reads: "...Death to America / Death to Israel / A Curse upon the Jews...”
DSA first endorsed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in 2017 and it has also condemned sanctions against countries like Iran and Cuba.
The group endorses far-left politicians on the local, state and federal levels. DSA also promotes anti-Israel agitators, including DSA members Rashida Tlaib, Zohran Mamdani and Linda Sarsour.
Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), DSA’s youth section active in high schools and colleges, has co-organized anti-Israel protests across the U.S. since October 7, 2023, particularly the April 2024 pro-terror encampments on university campuses.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
