Lucy MacGowan

Lucy MacGowan participated in the pro-Hamas encampment at Columbia in April 2024. MacGowan has also expressed support for terrorists online.

On April 21, 2021, Lucy MacGowan posted photos from the encampment on Instagram [slide 1, slide 7]. MacGowan commented: “Yesterday.”

One photo featured [slide 7] a banner that said “GAZA SOLIDARITY ENCAMPMENT” with Palestinian flags and banners set up at the encampment on Columbia’s South Lawn. The encampment was also in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Another photo featured [slide 1] protesters at a Within Our Lifetime (WOL) protest titled “FLOOD COLUMBIA FOR GAZA” held on April 20, 2024, outside Columbia on 116th and Amsterdam.

The language of “flood” is a reference to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the name Hamas used for their terror operation on October 7, 2023. It is a reference to the allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque. This accusation has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before Israel was founded in 1948. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.

Columbia is located in New York, New York.
