Aidan Parisi’s Arrest at the Pro-Hamas Encampment at Columbia University (Columbia), Support for Hamas Terrorists, Celebrating Intifada (Violent Uprising) & Hatred of Zionists
Aidan Parisi has expressed support for Hamas terrorism, celebrated intifada and spread hatred of Zionists, Israel, America and the police. Parisi was arrested at the pro-Hamas encampment at Columbia in April 2024.Parisi is a supporter [slide 5] of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Parisi was suspended by Columbia after participating in a pro-terror event that hosted a leader of a foreign terror organization but Parisi reportedly refused to leave the campus and university housing.
As of November 2024, Parisi was listed in the Columbia online directory as a student in the School of Social Work. Columbia is located in New York, New York.
As of April 2024, Parisi was an activist with the anti-Israel campus group Students For Justice in Palestine (SJP).
As of the same date, Parisi was affiliated with Columbia Social Workers for Palestine (CSSW 4 Palestine), “A collective of students at Columbia University’s School of Social Work supporting Palestinian national resistance and liberation.”
Also as of April 2024, Parisi was affiliated with Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), a coalition of “over 80 student groups working toward the goal of collective liberation.” CUAD is part of the BDS movement. The group began in 2016 but was revived in late 2023.
As of November 2023, Parisi was affiliated with the pro-terror activist group Within Our Lifetime (WOL).
Support for Hamas Terrorists
As of November 2024, Parisi’s X page said: “ايدن [Aidan]
The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It first appeared in propaganda videos produced by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, during its terror attacks of October 7, 2023. The symbol was used by Hamas to signify one of their Israeli targets.
As of April 2024, Parisi’s Instagram bio said: “

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
Also as of April 11, 2024, Parisi’s Instagram contained a link to a statement titled: “In Support of Palestinian Resistance.”
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
The statement said [p. 1]: “We stand in full solidarity with Palestinians resisting the ongoing occupation of their land by the settler colonial entity Israel. Defending Palestinian resistance aligns with the NASW [National Association of Social Workers] code of ethics.”
The statement further stated [p. 1]: “...reducing the [Hamas] attack on October 7th to a ‘surprise attack carried out by Hamas’ opportunistically rejects the struggles of millions of people with a blanket denunciation of resistance. We must also highlight the racialized, Islamophobic connotations of terrorism and how this rhetoric is used to discredit any violence that is not state-sponsored. The word terrorism is misappropriated to classify anti-imperial efforts as immoral or barbaric.”
On October 8, 2023, the day after Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, Parisi tweeted: “Read a paper for school about how the term decolonization has been co-opted by academia and social movements, which in turn has basically made it a metaphor.
Decolonization has, and always will be, returning land to indigenous peoples by any means necessary. Land back!...”
Celebrating Intifada (Violent Uprising)
On April 8, 2024, following Parisi’s suspension by Columbia, Parisi posted [slide 7] on Instagram a graphic with text that read: “We will resist institutional repression just as the Palestinians have resisted occupation…Que viva la intifada [Long live the Intifada]...Inshallah [God willing], we will rise victorious."The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
On March 8, 2024, Parisi posted [slide 1] on Instagram an image of two women holding a firearm with text that read: “We Palestinian women are resolved to fight to the end for the recovery of our homeland!”
Parisi commented on the post: “Sin mujeres, no hay revolución [Without women, there is no revolution]...As we fight against the exploitation of working women globally, let us remember the women of Palestine are also fighting occupation and genocide. May their struggles not go in vain…Que viva la intifada [Long live the intifada].”
Hatred of Zionists
On March 25, 2024, Parisi tweeted: “Caved and downloaded a dating app, immediately saw a z!onist from my school on it, immediately deleted the app
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.
Parisi retweeted a February 29, 2024 tweet that featured a sign that said: “Zionists are indigenous to hell.”
Hatred of Israel and America
On December 21, 2020, Parisi tweeted: “F**k the US and f**k israel.”On July 4, 2020, Parisi posted on Instagram a photo of an American and an Israeli flag burning. In the photo, Parisi wrote: “No love for any colonizer flag…”
On October 14, 2016, Parisi posted on Instagram a photo of a protester holding a sign that said: “We wouldn’t have Black Lives Matter if AmeriKKKa hadn’t had 300 years of ‘Black Lives Don’t Matter.’”
The term “Amerikkka” uses the initials of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) as a way to demonize America as “fascist or racist.”
Hatred of the Police
As of November 10, 2024, Parisi’s X profile background photo showed a police car on fire that was defaced with graffiti that said: “ACAB.”"ACAB” is an acronym that stands for “All cops are bastards.” It is sometimes rendered as “1312,” representing the position of the letters in the English alphabet.
Arrested at the Pro-Hamas Encampment at Columbia
On May 20, 2024, The Freelance News reported that Aidan Parisi was arrested at pro-Hamas and pro-BDS Columbia encampment in April 2024. Parisi was charged with “third degree criminal trespass…punishable by up to three months in jail, a year of probation and/or up to a $500 fine.”On April 17, 2024, Columbia students and anti-Israel activists set up a pro-Hamas encampment on campus to protest Israel’s war against Hamas and promote BDS. The encampment was forcibly dismantled and approximately 80 Columbia students were arrested.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Student Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
WOL
Within Our Lifetime (WOL) is a pro-terror activist group in New York City dedicated to Israel’s destruction within the lifetime of its members.Acts of violence and physical confrontations with police have frequently occurred at WOL protests and marches. WOL uses harassment campaigns to target pro-Israel organizations or companies that do business with Israel, making it a part of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Multiple activists who have either burned Israeli flags or led chants at WOL rallies were later jailed for violent anti-Semitic hate crimes, including Saadah Masoud and Waseem Awawdeh. In Masoud’s case, he received 18 months in jail for an anti-Semitic assault at an April 2022 WOL rally and two other anti-Semitic assaults in 2021.
WOL promotes “resistance” against Israel “by any means necessary,” calls to “Globalize the Intifada,” spreads incitement and idolizes [00:34:06] Palestinian terrorists like Leila Khaled and others at rallies and online events.
WOL was founded by Nerdeen Kiswani and Dan Cione in 2015. Kiswani is a frequent speaker at WOL rallies where she has promoted terrorism against Israelis and called for the death of Zionists. She has also provided support for Masoud and other activists following their arrests.
WOL began as the New York City chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), going by NYC SJP, but changed its name in 2018. The group is not found to be registered in any U.S. state as a nonprofit organization under its official name. Nor is there any listing for WOL under its name on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for tax-exempt organizations.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
