Lisa Ohta

Lisa Ohta [Lisa Hitoe Ohta] reportedly fostered a "toxic environment" where antisemitism went "unchecked" as the president of a labor union in New York City. She also refused to cooperate with a congressional investigation into the incident.

While Ohta was her union's president, the union spread hatred of Israel and promoted the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The incidents occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

As of January 2026, Ohta was listed as the president of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys - United Autoworkers Local 2325 (ALAA - UAW Local 2325) labor union.

As of the same date, Ohta was also listed as a member of the transition team for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, serving on the Criminal Legal System Committee.

Mamdani has called for dismantling capitalism and promoted hatred of the police. He has also justified Hamas terrorism and glorified terror supporters. On his first day as mayor, he revoked executive orders designed to combat antisemitism, including increased police protection at synagogues, and nullified a ban on city officials to boycott Israel.

Also as of January 2026, Ohta's LinkedIn said she was located in the New York City metropolitan area.
