Jorge DeFendini participated in at least one anti-Israel event in 2024, organized by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) chapter in New York City (NYC-DSA).

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

NYC-DSA is an anti-American and anti-Israel activist group. It celebrated the Hamas terror attacks of October 7, 2023, by holding a rally the next day.

As of October 2025, Jorge DeFendini’s X profile showed that he was a member of Ithaca-DSA, which is in Ithaca, New York.

As of the same date, Jorge DeFendini’s Facebook profile said he was programing director at Midstate Council for Occupational Safety and Health (MCOSH). His X profile said he was a nominee for Ithaca Common Council - Ward 1. According to DSA's National Electoral Commission, Jorge DeFendini won the Ithaca Common Council Primary in June 2025.
