Jake Von Ott

Overview

Jake Von Ott [Jacob Stephen Von Ott] has expressed a violent hatred of Muslims, promoted Neo-Nazism and spread anti-Semitism on social media.

In July 2017, Von Ott was reportedly the Oregon regional coordinator for the White Nationalist campus organization Identity Evropa (IE). In September 2017, Von Ott had reportedly stepped down from the role.

On June 4, 2017, Von Ott told a reporter at a Portland, Oregon rally that he was 19-year-old and a student, but declined to disclose where he studied. Von Ott also gave two interviews to the PSU Vanguard, Portland State University’s student newspaper, in July and September 2017.

In April 2018, Von Ott, Rose CityAntifa reported that Von Ott was fired from working at FedEx and was a “Part-time student” at Mount Hood Community College (MHCC).

Von Ott reportedly legally changed his name and was previously known as Jacob Ott.

Violent Hatred of Muslims

On August 7, 2017, Rose City Antifa reported that Von Ott posted an Instagram photo of himself shooting an assault rifle at a firing range on an unspecified date. Ott reportedly posted the photo with the comment: “My Muslim Refugee policy. #ak #ak47 #america #refugeesnotwelcome #christian #bacon #pork #deusvult #f**kislam #freedom #patriot #gunporn #porn #gunnut #gun #beautiful.”

On March 19, 2017, Von Ott reportedly said on Facebook: “What is the punishment for a US tourist killing refugees while on vacation in Germany? Asking for a friend.”

Promoting Neo-Nazism

On August 26, 2017, Von Ott allegedly posted to Facebook the 14-word phrase: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children” followed by the phrase “The ‘14 words.’”

“1488” is a common neo-Nazi phrase. The “14” stands for the “14 Words,” a term created by white supremacist David Lane, meaning: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children." The “88” is code for “Heil Hitler,” since “H” is the eighth letter of the alphabet.
On August 7, 2017, Von Ott reportedly had multiple tattoos of symbols associated with White Nationalist and Nazi ideology.

In a July 24, 2017 interview, Von Ott reportedly repeated the “14 Words” and spread race-based hatred against black people and expressed admiration for George Lincoln Rockwell, the founder of the American Nazi Party.

On March 24, 2017, Von Ott reportedly commented on a Facebook cartoon of a Jewish caricature being stuffed into an oven, writing: “I preheat mine 1,488 degrees.”

On March 19, 2017, Von Ott reportedly wrote on Facebook: “When I look upon the current generation of Von Ott’s and see that my own kin had yellow fever. Only the weakest of European ‘men’ are the ones clouded with yellow fever.”

“Yellow fever,” is a racist term for an attraction to people of Asian descent.

Von Ott’s post reportedly featured a meme of Hitler and other Nazis, showing them above a caption that read: “ABSOLUTELY DEGENERATE.”

On March 4, 2017, Von Ott reportedly referred to Adolf Hitler as “Uncle Addy” in a Facebook post about multiple magazine covers featuring Hitler’s image.

On February 27, 2017, Von Ott reportedly posted on Facebook two images of white children alongside two images of children with darker skin.

Vonn reportedly commented: “Which children would you rather have? ...Would you rather carry on your bloodline and have your beautiful Ubermensch children look like pictures 1 and 2? Or would you rather spit on the graves of every ancestor that fought for you and have you ‘children’ look like pictures 3 and 4.”

Identity Evropa

Identity Evropa (IE) is an American white nationalist campus organization founded in March of 2016 by Nathan Damigo.

As of August 4, 2017, IE reportedly had “450 dues-paying members on dozens of campuses.” IE is based in Oakdale, California and is recognized among white nationalists as an “identitarian” group.

IE is known for its anti-Semitic leadership, for partnering with other white nationalist organizations and for its provocative disruptions and public rallies. A slogan often used by the organization, “You Will Not Replace Us,” is a call to action against people of color. The chant became well-known following the violent Charlottesville, Virginia rallies of August 11-12, 2017. White nationalists in Charlottesville also chanted “Jews will not replace us!” and IE activists who attended the rallies yelled “f**k you faggots!” and the Nazi-era “blood and soil” chant.

IE campus activism features distinct posters showing white Greek and Roman marble statues and slogans like “PROTECT YOUR HERITAGE” and “OUR DESTINY IS OURS.” IE tweets the hashtag “#FashTheCity,” using the term “Fash” as short for fascist.
