Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.

Hezbollah has long been known as an anti-Semitic and genocidal terror organization dedicated to destroying Israel.

Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and antisemitic violence.

Ali Khamenei became Iran's supreme leader in 1989. He oversaw Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which the U.S. designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) in 2019, and was instrumental in building up Iran’s nuclear capabilities. He ordered mass executions and lethal force against internal dissent. Khamenei was killed in a joint U.S.-Israel operation in February 2026.

Hassan Nasrallah became the leader of terror group Hezbollah in 1992 and maintained his leadership until an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon killed him on September 27, 2024. Nasrallah once said: “In a future war, all of occupied Palestine will be struck by our rockets” and [00:00:19]: “Israel is a cancerous tumor!…The only solution is to eradicate the cancer.” He called Jews the most “cowardly, despicable, weak and feeble” people in the world.

On February 28, 2026, the U.S. and Israel preemptively attacked Iran to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons and from expanding its missile capabilities, and to destroy its navy and other security infrastructure. The ensuing conflict lasted 38 days, ending with a ceasefire on April 8, 2026. During that time, Iran fired approximately 650 ballistic missiles at Israel, killing 28 Israeli civilians and foreign nationals and injuring close to 7,800 Israelis.

Iran has supplied over 20 political and militia groups in the Middle East with arms, military training and financing. The groups include Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, Syria's Assad regime, and Shiite militias in Iraq. They have acted as Iranian proxies since the 1980s, carrying out many attacks in the region, including on US soldiers, the Kurds of Iraq, and Israelis on October 7, 2023.

The assertion that Jews control the media has been traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic fabricated text that depicts wealthy Jews conspiring to take over the world.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 251 and wounded thousands. War crimes included various systematic sexual crimes like gang rape and genital mutilation. Men and women were violated, even after being murdered. Victims who survived that day, including hostages, endured forms of humiliation and torture.

Gazans working in the targeted Israeli villages provided intelligence to Hamas on which families to kill and torture, including long-time employers. Many Palestinian civilians joined in and celebrated the attacks. Hamas livestreamed their crimes on social media, including to victims’ accounts for families to see.
