Jamal is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
In 2021, Jamal was affiliated with Within Our Lifetime (WOL), an activist group in New York City founded by Nerdeen Kiswani. Until February 2018, WOL was known as a branch of SJP, going by NYC SJP. WOL’s “Points of Unity” states: “We defend the right of Palestinians as colonized people to resist the zionist occupation by any means necessary.”
In June 2018, Jamal wrote that she was an “organizer” with American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). Also in 2018, she was affiliated with the Muslim Student Association (MSA).

Idolizing Terrorists (Lion’s Den, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade)
On October 24, 2022, the day multiple terrorists were killed in an Israeli military operation, Jamal tweeted: “Support Nablus and the armed resistance.”The “Lions’ Den” [عرين الأسود]is an independent “armed group” with operatives hailing from various other Palestinian terrorist organizations. The group reportedly emerged from Nablus in August 2022. The Lions’ Den has claimed responsibility for the death of Israeli soldiers. They also targeted Israeli civilians in multiple terror attacks in October and November 2022.
Ibrahim Al-Nabulsi, a “commander” of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, was known as “the lion of Nablus.” On August 9, 2022, he was killed [p. 5] in a gun battle with Israeli forces. The Brigade is listed as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. State Department.
Jamal’s article was published on the anti-Israel website Mondoweiss.
On August 11, 2022, Jamal said [00:00:43] in a TikTok video about Al-Nabulsi: “If you support Palestinian self determination then you should be for Palestinians fighting for it by any means necessary.”
On August 9, 2022, Jamal tweeted: “I can’t find the author for this quote that I read today but it’s incredibly powerful: / ‘land you have to kill for is not yours. Land you have to DIE for is.’ / May Allah bless our hero #IbrahimAlNabulsi.”
Calling for “Intifada” Violence
On May 16, 2021, Jamal posted a video to TikTok of herself at a WOL rally held one day earlier during Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW) against Hamas. In the video, she led [00:00:12] protesters in chanting: “Intifada, intifada! Long live the intifada!”The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by drawing a comparison to the Holocaust, known in Hebrew as the Shoah, meaning “catastrophe.”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
Supporting Hamas Financiers
On December 23, 2020, Jamal wrote on Facebook: “Omg this is amazing!!!One of the HLF5 is out! Inshallah the rest soon!!!!
" The Holy Land Five (HLF5) were five individuals associated with the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) indicted for funneling funds to Hamas in the guise of humanitarian aid. The men were all convicted and sentenced in 2009 to federal prison terms ranging from 15 to 65 years.
Hatred of Israel
On April 22, 2018, Jamal tweeted: “May 15th marks the 70th anniversary of the exile of Palestinians. 70 years of oppression . 70 years of occupation. 70 years of apartheid. #Nakba70.”On December 19, 2020, Jamal said [00:00:38] in a TikTok video that Gaza was the “world’s largest open air prison,” and that Israel was “not a boogeyman, it’s a state, a violent apartheid state.”
On March 12, 2021, Jamal posted a video of herself on TikTok where she said [00:00:11]: “But what if I told you that these tactics that treat black and brown protesters as enemy combatants are actually reinforced by the Israeli military police and intelligence…”
The accusation that Israeli law enforcement teaches American police brutal tactics during police exchange programs is used to demonize Israel. Participants in these programs have stated [00:02:14] that the training in Israel focuses [00:13:36] on public policy, counterterrorism and leadership training in the form of lectures and discussions.
On January 13, 2025, Jamal posted on X: “The genocide could have ended months ago but Israel needed more Palestinians to die.”
On January 15, 2025, Jamal posted on X: “Yes the Israeli military are great baby killers.”
On January 15, 2025, Jamal posted on X: “I will go to Gaza once I can to visit Sama’s grave. I promise the world will remember her name. Long live Gaza. Long live Palestine. Glory to our martyrs.”
On February 27, 2025, Jamal posted on X: “Zionists are the biggest antisemites.”
Opposing the IHRA Definition of Anti-Semitism
On April 7, 2021, Jamal shared a post on Facebook urging readers: “TELL CUNY UNIVERSITY STUDENT SENATE (USS) VOTE AGAINST ADOPTING THE ANTI-PALESTINIAN IHRA DEFINITION OF ANTI-SEMITISM.”The post also recommended [slide 4] voting for a resolution written by the anti-Israel CUNY Jewish Law Students Association (JLSA) and SJP at CUNY Law which explicitly condemned [slide 3] the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism.
On April 11, 2021, the CUNY USS voted on whether to adopt a resolution supporting the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism. The CUNY USS also voted on a resolution co-authored by SJP and JLSA which explicitly rejected [p. 3] the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism.
The SJP and JLSA resolution was reportedly introduced to the USS by Nerdeen Kiswani at a CUNY USS Plenary meeting held on Zoom.
The resolution claimed [p. 2]: “...it is not antisemitic to denounce or act in opposition to the state of Israel, or to the ideology and institutions of Zionism.”
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.
On April 11, 2021, the CUNY USS voted against the SJP and JLSA resolution but also against adopting the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism.
Anti-Israel Activism (SJP, WOL, BDS)
On October 12, 2022, Jamal also published an article in Mondoweiss titled: “Meet Nerdeen Kiswani, the most targeted Palestinian activist in America.” Kiswani has called for the death of Zionists and for Israel’s destruction. She has also spread incitement to violence, glorified intifada, honored leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group and expressed support for other terrorists in her WOL activism. On June 1, 2021, Jamal led [00:00:01] an anti-Israel CCNY SJP protest held as part of CUNY Divest, a CUNY-based BDS campaign. Jamal led the crowd in chanting [00:01:17]: “Zionism out of CUNY now!”
On January 19, 2021, Jamal posted a video of herself on TikTok where she led [00:00:35] a protest against former Israeli Consul General to New York, Dani Dayan, during a visit to CCNY days earlier.
Jamal led [00:00:35]protesters in chanting: “Dani Dayan, you can’t hide! We charge you with apartheid!”
On October 26, 2018, Jamal tweeted: “On November 8th, Dr @normfinkelsteinwill be speaking at the City College of NY to our SJP. An event you don't want to miss.” Jamal’s tweet featured a flyer and linked to a Facebook event page for a CCNY SJP event hosting anti-Israel Professor Norman Finkelstein.
Norman Finkelstein has compared [00:08:52] Israel to Nazi Germany and suggested [00:09:05] that Gaza is a Nazi concentration camp. Finkelstein also accused [00:11:42] Israel of “poisoning one million children.” He has expressed [00:00:03] “solidarity with” the Hezbollah terrorist organization and excused [00:41:33] the use of rockets against Israeli civilians by the terror group Hamas.
On April 28, 2018, Jamal tweeted a flyer promoting a CCNY SJP event featuring anti-Israel activist Miko Peled.
Miko Peled is an anti-Israel activist who has said [00:00:06] the Israeli army is “one of the best trained, best equipped, best fed, terrorist organizations in the world” and claimed [00:00:16] that “their entire purpose is terrorism.” In September 2016, Peled tweeted that US aid to Israel causes people to think that “Jews have a reputation 4being sleazy thieves.”
On April 30, 2018, Jamal tweeted: “Please donate anything at all to SJP. ALSO: WE HAVE A DONOR WILLING TO MATCH EVERY DONATION! Help us help Palestine!...”
Jamal’s tweet linked to a GoFundMe page campaigning to “Help Fund CCNY SJP!”
On February 13, 2018, Jamal tweeted: “Okay. Calling all NYC SJPs. We gotta do our part!!! Please if you want to go to DC to fight against legislation that destroys Palestinian lives please get in contact with me. Guys! AIPAC [American Israel Public Affairs Committee] is also going to DC in March. They get HUNDREDS of people to advocate for their racist trash.”
The stated mission of AIPAC is to “strengthen, protect and promote the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance the security of the United States and Israel.”
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Student Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
WOL
Within Our Lifetime (WOL) is a pro-terror activist group in New York City dedicated to Israel’s destruction within the lifetime of its members.Acts of violence and physical confrontations with police have frequently occurred at WOL protests and marches. WOL uses harassment campaigns to target pro-Israel organizations or companies that do business with Israel, making it a part of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Multiple activists who have either burned Israeli flags or led chants at WOL rallies were later jailed for violent anti-Semitic hate crimes, including Saadah Masoud and Waseem Awawdeh. In Masoud’s case, he received 18 months in jail for an anti-Semitic assault at an April 2022 WOL rally and two other anti-Semitic assaults in 2021.
WOL promotes “resistance” against Israel “by any means necessary,” calls to “Globalize the Intifada,” spreads incitement and idolizes [00:34:06] Palestinian terrorists like Leila Khaled and others at rallies and online events.
WOL was founded by Nerdeen Kiswani and Dan Cione in 2015. Kiswani is a frequent speaker at WOL rallies where she has promoted terrorism against Israelis and called for the death of Zionists. She has also provided support for Masoud and other activists following their arrests.
WOL began as the New York City chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), going by NYC SJP, but changed its name in 2018. The group is not found to be registered in any U.S. state as a nonprofit organization under its official name. Nor is there any listing for WOL under its name on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for tax-exempt organizations.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
AMP
American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) was founded by UC Berkeley Professor Hatem Bazian as a vehicle to generate mainstream support in the United States for the Palestinian national cause.
On its website, the organization lists Bazian as the chairman of its national board and describes itself as “a national education and grassroots-based organization, dedicated to educating the American public about Palestine and its rich cultural, historical and religious heritage.”
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has accused AMP of promoting “extreme anti-Israel views and has at times provided a platform for anti-Semitism under the guise of educating Americans” about Palestinians. The ADL further stated that AMP is directly involved in campus-based anti-Israel activity through Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).
Prior to founding the AMP in 2006, Dr. Bazian created SJP together with fellow UC Berkeley Professor Snehal Shingavi in 2001. The close working relationship between AMP and SJP has been documented several times over the years by several organizations, including NGO Monitor and StandWithUs.
In addition to providing financial, public relations and legal assistance to SJP, AMP has also been accused of having connections to Hamas. The AMP national board includes former members of both the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP) and Holy Land Foundation (HLF), both of which were found liable for aiding and abetting Hamas. The IAP was founded by Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook, a senior member of Hamas.
MSA
The Muslim Student Association (MSA) was established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."
The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.
The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
