On April 2, 2019, the Notes Music Academy in Oakland tweeted that Boutros was their trumpet teacher.
Spreading Hatred of Israel
On July 5, 2020, Boutros tweeted that Israel was committing “genocide.”On June 13, 2020, Boutros wrote a blog post accusing Israel of “genocide,” of “colonizing land” and of being one of several “white settler colonial projects worldwide.”
Boutros wrote in the post: “The same way there was no excuse for apartheid South Africa, the Jim Crow South, and the genocide of Native Americans, there is nothing that can be said to defend Israel as the nation it is now.”
On June 6, 2020, Boutros wrote a blog post accusing Israel of a “slow genocide” and of “white settler-colonialism.” She wrote: “It’s important to understand that the police brutality, surveillance, and incarceration techniques we are currently protesting in the US are developed and tested in its colonial projects abroad, especially Israel.”
On May 13, 2020, Boutros tweeted that Israel is committing “genocide.”
On February 6, 2020, Boutros tweeted: “Israel border security did this to my musician friend’s oud [Middle Eastern string instrument]. Suppressing art is a particularly cruel form of cultural genocide.”
Boutros retweeted an October 1, 2019 tweet about singer Demi Lovato being baptised in the Jordan River in Israel. The tweet said: “Palestinian genocide is what makes Israel absolutely magical ❤️.”
On December 6, 2017, Boutros posted to Facebook an image that said in Arabic: “Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine.” The post protested the American decision to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
On October 21, 2015, Boutros wrote a blog post claiming that Palestinian activist Hashem Al Azzeh was “killed today by tear gas thrown by IDF soldiers.”
In October 2015, Al Azzeh died of a chronic cardiac condition. On October 21, 2015, Al Azzeh suffered chest pains and was taken to a nearby hospital, which claimed his death was due to heart failure. Palestinian news sources later claimed his death was caused by the IDF’s use of tear gas nearby.
On August 31, 2014, Boutros wrote in a blog post: “The settlers are to the Jews as the KKK are to the Christians, and the ISIS to Islam.” She also alleged: “Many of the settlers themselves are religious zealots from Brooklyn who were hired to wage Israel’s war in a house in the West Bank.”
On August 27, 2014, Boutros wrote a blog titled: “The War is Over (maybe)!,” which was about Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) against Hamas.
Israel commenced Operation Protective Edge (OPE) in July 2014, to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.
In the blog, Boutros described Hamas as a “legitimate political party” and claimed that it “attempted peaceful negotiations, with little or response from Israel.”
The United Nations approved [pp. 39–41] the Israeli-Egyptian blockade of Gaza in 2011 as a security measure to stop Hamas from acquiring sophisticated rockets. Multiple flotillas have attempted to breach the blockade, with at least one flotilla initiating a violent confrontation with Israeli forces.
Israel commenced Operations Cast Lead (OCL), Pillar of Defense (OPD) and Protective Edge (OPE) in 2008-09, 2012 and 2014, respectively, in order to stop Hamas rocket fire from Gaza targeting Israeli civilians.
Demonizing Zionism

If you believe in Jewish people coexisting peacefully with anybody else in Palestine you are anti-Zionist.”On March 30, 2020, Boutros tweeted: “Happy #PalestineLandDay Zionism is Colonialism is White Supremacy.”
Promoting Vandalism
On December 13, 2020, Boutros tweeted: “It’s stylish to spray tag ‘free Palestine’ places pass it on.”On August 3, 2020, Boutros tweeted: “My friend went from wanting to go on Birthright two years ago to going to protests with ‘free Palestine’ written on her arms and tagging city busses with it, I love.”
Birthright Israel is a heritage trip to Israel for Jewish young adults from across the world.
On July 11, 2020, Boutros tweeted a photo of her masked while holding a paddle. She wrote: “BLM [Black Lives Matter] and Free Palestine... or else.” She posted the photo during a period of protests and rioting after the death of George Floyd.
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a black man, was arrested and killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Following Floyd’s death, demonstrations and protests were held in over 400 American cities, as well as internationally. Many of the demonstrations devolved into riots, resulting in injury and deaths of civilians and police officers, as well as widespread destruction and looting of property.
Supporting BDS
In November 2015, while Boutros was reportedly a member of SJP UCSC, the UCSC Student Union Assembly (SUA) held a hearing where it adopted an anti-Israel divestment resolution presented by SJP UCSC.The resolution was initially passed by the SUA in May 2014, but was later nullified by the SUA chair on procedural grounds. In early November 2015, SJP UCSC appealed the nullification and on November 18, 2015, the SUA held a hearing during which it upheld the initial May 2014 passage of the resolution. Boutros was quoted praising the decision.
Boutros retweeted an August 28, 2018, tweet that said: “If you, like me, choose to boycott Israeli products, due to their appalling war crimes and apartheid, here are a list of companies and products that support the zionist apartheid Israeli Government. #BDS.” The tweet featured an image listed over 100 companies that are “supporting the zionist entity.”
On February 11, 2019, Boutros tweeted that she was pleased that “openly pro-BDS”
U.S. Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar were elected.
Tlaib and Omar were elected to Congress in 2018 and have faced anti-Semitism scandals since entering office. In July 2019, they were primary co-sponsors of a pro-BDS resolution which Omar described as “an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support… the BDS movement.”
UCSC SJP - Whitewashing Terrorism
On November 8, 2015, UCSC SJP members held a “die-in” to oppose a pro-Israel student group’s show of solidarity with Israelis who were murdered during a wave of terror attacks that Fall.UCSC SJP - Hosting Steven Salaita
On February 20, 2015, UCSC SJP co-hosted an event featuring Steven Salaita, where group members posed for photos with him after his talk.During Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) in 2014, Salaita tweeted: “There's something profoundly sexual to the Zionist pleasure w/#Israel's aggression. Sublimation through bloodletting, a common perversion.”
Salaita was ultimately unable to find a teaching position and claimed that he took a job as a school bus driver in the Washington, D.C. area.
UCSC SJP - Spreading Hatred of Israel
On August 4, 2016, UCSC SJP posted to Facebook: “Beautiful to see the official Black Lives Matter platform recognize Israel as an apartheid state and endorse BDS!” The post also quoted a story stating that the platform also accused Israel of “genocide.”On April 29, 2016, UCSC SJP hosted an event titled, “Legacies of Ethnic Cleansing,” featuring anti-Israel activists Lara Kiswani and Ilan Pappe.
Lara Kiswani has called for Israel’s destruction “to benefit everyone in the world," demonized Israel as well as America and expressed support for terrorists. As of April 2021, Kiswani had been the executive director of the Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC) in the San Francisco Bay Area, as early as 2014.
In August 2016, BDS leader Ilan Pappé admitted that BDS was not initiated by a “call” from Palestinian civil society; rather, it was initiated by a small number of radical anti-Israel extremists.
On October 21, 2015, UCSC SJP posted to Facebook an article titled: “A New Generation of Resistance.” UCSC quoted the article’s subtitle: “In showing that Palestinians won't submit to Israeli violence, the ongoing youth uprising has given the rest of Palestine hope.”
On May 12, 2014, UCSC SJP hosted an event titled: “Apartheid Israel - Oral Histories of Ethnic Cleansing and Apartheid.”
On August 5, 2013, UCSC SJP posted to Facebook: “Stop the Prawer plan - it is ethnic cleansing!!!”

Also on March 4, 2015, UCSC SJP posted to Instagram a photo with its activists taking part in a mock Israeli checkpoint. One hashtag accused Israel of “#apartheid” and another was “#bringdownthewall,” referring to Israel’s security barrier.
Israeli checkpoints were builtto protect Israel's civilian population against terror attacks, such as suicide bombings.
Israel’s security barrier, built as a deterrent to Palestinian terror attacks, is 97% low chain-link barrier. The concrete portions of the fence were built in response to Palestinian sniper attacks.
On January 28, 2015, UCSC SJP posted to Facebook a video of protesters trying to enter a campus pro-Israel event. The post said that after several of them entered, they read a message which included the line: “Participating in a study abroad program in Israel means participating in the ongoing apartheid and genocide of the Palestinian people.”
UCSC SJP member Katherine Berjikian participated in the protest where she held a sign that said, “LONG LIVE INTIFADA” and protesters chanted, “Long live the Intifada!”
The term “intifada” has carried the connotation of violence, since the early 2000’s.
UCSC SJP - Supporting BDS
On November 18, 2015, UCSC SJP members spoke at a meeting of the UCSC Student Union Assembly (SUA) where it adopted an anti-Israel divestment resolution. The resolution framed BDS as a successor to a boycott of apartheid South Africa and called Israel’s security barrier an “Apartheid Wall in the West Bank.”The SUA originally passed the resolution in May 2014, but was later nullified by the SUA chair on procedural grounds. In early November 2015, UCSC SJP appealed the nullification and on November 18, 2015, the SUA held a hearing where it upheld the initial May 2014 passage of the resolution.
When the 2014 resolution passed, UCSC SJP was called Committee for Justice in Palestine (UCSC CJP). In October 2014, the group changed its name to UCSC SJP.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
