On June 8, 2024, Saleh posted on Instagram a flyer for a WOL protest titled: “Citywide Day of Rage for Gaza.” The protest took place on June 10, 2024, the same day he threatened violence against Zionists on a subway train.
In his since-deleted post, Saleh wrote: “…[I]n response to the ongoing genocide being carried out against the Palestinian people, Within Our Lifetime calls on people of conscience to join us for a Day of Rage this Monday June 10th… Think creatively. Move autonomously. Then converge with WOL in Union Square at 5 pm as we take to the streets in rage and mourning.”
On June 4, 2024, Saleh posted on Instagram a flyer for a WOL and BDS movement rally titled: “Flood Cornell for Rafah: We Demand Divestment from Genocide.” He wrote: “Amidst the genocide in Gaza, Cornell refuses to divest from genocide.”
The language of “flood” is a reference to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the name Hamas used for their terror operation on October 7, 2023. It is a reference to the allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque. This accusation has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before Israel was founded in 1948. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.
In the same post, Saleh also called the Israeli army the “IOF” and also wrote: “Cornell Tech is built on a partnership with Technion Institute of Israel, literal engineers of their genocide and apartheid.”
On May 27, 2024, Saleh spoke [00:00:01] at a WOL rally in Manhattan titled: “Flood Manhattan for Rafah.” At the rally, he led [00:01:10] the crowd in chanting: “So, it is our job to stop this genocide that is being funded with our tax dollars. Shame! Shame!”
On May 18, 2024, Saleh posted on Instagram a photo of himself speaking at a WOL rally held on May 15, 2024, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, titled: “Nakba Day: All Out for Gaza.”
The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by drawing a comparison to the Holocaust, known in Hebrew as the Shoah, meaning “catastrophe.”
On the post, Saleh wrote: “...#freegaza #freepalestine…#resistance…”
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
In his speech, Saleh represented HCW4PNYC and referred [00:00:08] to the police arrests made at the rally as “the hyenas NYPD attacks…against the Bay Ridge community.”
On March 28, 2024, Saleh participated in a WOL protest titled: “Flood Manhattan for Gaza.” The protest was outside Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, where a fundraiser for U.S. President Joe Biden was taking place.
On February 16, 2024, Saleh participated in an anti-Israel protest titled: “The Schools Out for Palestine Walkout and Rally,” which reportedly took place outside of the New York Public Library in Manhattan, New York.
