Zeana Issa

Overview

Zeana Issa is a Memphis-based anti-Israel agitator who has called for the death of all Jews. She regularly attends anti-Israel events in Tennessee.

Issa spreads anti-Semitism on the internet through several Twitter accounts.

Calling to Kill the Jews

On July 11, 2014, Issa tweeted: "Can all these Jew just drop dead ya rab omg plz wallah I would do a big pretty if they just die." Another Twitter user replied: “Zeana not all Jew's are bad. It's just the Zionist.” Issa answered: “shut up.”

On the same day, Issa tweeted — "Ya rab ya rab [Oh god oh god] plz get a big ass bomb to kill all the 5ara [s**t] Jew god I am sick of this ! It's not fair #allahuma#an#sama."

On August 19, 2014, Issa tweeted a photo from 2009, that was widely used to claim that Israel had misused white phosphorous illegally as a weapon during Operation Cast Lead. Issa wrote in the tweet: "May Allah be with the people is gaza and kill all the yahodue ya rab [Jews please god] Hamas does the same to them!"

On August 19, 2014, Issa tweeted — "Wtf is wrong with the 5ara [s**t] people ! #FreeGaza 5ara 3al kol el yahode [s**t upon all Jews] that kill people."

Also on August 19, 2014, Issa tweeted — "Tfffff 3al kol el yahode" [Spitting on all the Jews]

Glorifying Hamas

On August 20, 2014, Issa tweeted a photo of a Hamas militant of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas. Issa tweeted — "#godblesshamas."

On August 19, 2014, Issa tweeted another photo of Hamas militants with masked faces, holding guns with the caption — "God Bless Hamas."

On August 22, 2014, Issa [tweeted ] a montage of two photos. One image pictured a man wearing a keffiyeh as a mask and was captioned: "Just because he covers his face he is not a terrorist." The second image was of U.S. President Barack Obama, with the caption: “Just because he wears suits and ties he is not a hero.” Issa commented on the image, in the tweet saying: — “Your a 5ara (s**t) Obama I hope Hamas gets all the s**t heads like you and kill you ya rab amen !”

Celebrating Abductions and Killing

On July 20, 2014, Issa tweeted — "We kidnapped one of them today and inshallah tmw we will take 100 ! Free free Palestine."

On the same day Issa tweeted — "Now your a** is ours."

Both tweets included a photo of an Israeli soldier, Oron Shaul.

Shaul was caught in a deadly ambush in Shejaiya, Gaza, by Hamas terrorists during Operation Protective Edge (OPE). Hamas celebrated the capture of Shaul and even produced a song. The IDF later determined that Shaul was dead and that his body was held by Hamas. 

On July 21, 2014, Issa retweeted a tweet that read — "Hope more soldiers die because they are sick and only kill innocent children...#PalestineResists."

The tweet included a photo from the previous day’s funeral of Sgt. Nissim Sean Carmeli who also died in the ambush that killed Shaul in Shejaiya.

Spreading Fake News and Propaganda

On July 12, 2014, Issa retweeted a tweet showing a female Israeli soldier — who was instructing a course for trauma medics — applying fake blood to another soldier. The image was originally published in a August 2012 article on women and the IDF. The tweet read: "Female Israel soldiers faking injuries for TV News!!! The entire world must see this. #FreePalestine."

That image and others were routinely retweeted by anti-Israel bloggers during Israel’s OPE to falsely claim that Israel faked injuries for the camera as propaganda.
