Teddie Kelly

On August 25, 2024, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, Kelly was featured in a video posted X from an online event hosted by the anti-Israel campus group Faculty for Justice in Palestine at the University of Pennsylvania (PennFJP).

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.

In the video, Kelly smiled and raised a fist when another speaker said [00:00:08], referring to convicted terrorist Leila Khaled: "...hijacked an airplane...and and we're very proud of her for doing that."

Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

In the same video, Kelly also displayed the PFLP flag in the background.

The PFLP is dedicated to the violent destruction of Israel. It is designated as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) by the United States. The EU, Canada, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Australia and Israel also list it as a terror group due to its history of carrying out assassinations, suicide bombings, hijackings and multiple murders.

On June 16, 2021, during Israel's "Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW)" against Hamas terrorists in Gaza, Workers World published an article written by Kelly, in which Kelly praised Hamas and the PFLP for launching rockets against Israel civilians.

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

The May 23, 2024 issue of Workers World included a section edited by Kelly, which featured a poem by Kevin "Rashid" Johnson, who was convicted of murder in 1990 and sentenced to life in prison.

The poem called Zionists "white supremacists" and said "Zionist Askenazis" went from being "victims in Europe" to "villains in the Middle East."

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.

The poem also said: "The powerful zionist/ propaganda machine/ whose indoctrination methods/ were passed without seam/ from Nazis to Zionist Ashkenazis."

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

On July 16, 2023, Kelly posted on TikTok a video, in which Kelly said [00:00:50]: "The ideology of this country [America] is fetid and backwards."

Kelly also said [00:00:43]: "We need soldiers to fight this fight [against America]."

On July 10, 2021, Kelly spoke at an anti-Israel rally titled: "March Against Israeli Apartheid," in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

At the rally, activists reportedly called for the destruction of Israel, chanting: "We don’t want your ‘two states,’ we want all of ‘48."

“48” refers to 1948, the year the State of Israel was established.
