Linda Luu
Linda Luu has spread hatred of Israel and engaged in anti-Israel activism, in the wake of the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israelis on October 7, 2023.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.

As of February 2025, Luu's personal website said Luu was "a PhD candidate in American Studies in the Department of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University [NYU]."
Luu graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology and Asian American Studies from Hunter College (Hunter). Hunter is located in New York, New York.

Luu signed an October 18, 2023 anti-Israel statement issued by Faculty for Justice in Palestine (FJP) at NYU that claimed Israel's "history of colonization, stretching back at least 75 years" and "apartheid regime, characterized by ongoing processes of occupation, expropriation, ethnic cleansing...are the root causes of the current wave of violence."
The modern State of Israel was founded 75 years earlier, in 1948.

The statement Luu signed also referred to Israel's war against Hamas as "colonial racial violence."
On January 2, 2025, the New York Sun published an article on Luu titled: "Title VI Complaint Levied Against NYU Professor Who Canceled Final Class To Attend Anti-Israel Campus Rally."
On the morning of December 12, 2024, according to the New York Sun, Luu sent an email to students canceling their final presentations and urging them to participate in an anti-Israel protest instead.
On December 28, 2024, the website LibertyAffair.com quoted the email Luu sent to students as saying: "The entrance to Bobst is currently blocked by students demanding the university disclose and divest its funds, holdings, assets, and capital tied to the Israeli occupation. I regret that we cannot hear from the last round of students and their projects."
Luu's email later said: "Students are demanding ‘no business as usual’ during a genocide. I have the choice to disavow my academic duties to protest. I invite anyone from class to join me at the picket line."
On December 12, 2024, a statement issued by NYU's president Linda Mills and provost Georgina Dopico said that the previous day, protesters inside NYU's Bobst Library "began to disrupt the studies of hundreds of students by unfurling large banners, throwing leaflets off of various upper floors down to the lobby, and later, chanting very loudly."
The statement said that "students and staff described feeling scared, harassed and hassled" and that "graffiti was found that directly targeted members of our community with threats of violence."
NYU's statement said: "We want to be clear: This was not a peaceful protest, which we have seen throughout the semester. Nor was this a question of freedom of speech. This was a small group of people who were determined to disrupt, harass, and interfere with the normal operations of this university at a particularly stressful and crucial time for our students—the start of finals."
On December 12, 2024, the website nyunews.com reported that protesters "dropped a procession of banners" from the Library's mezzanine, second, and seventh floorsread: "WE DEMAND 1. DISCLOSE 2. DIVEST 3. SHUT DOWN NYU TEL AVIV" and "NYU OUT OF PALESTINE."
On December 12, 2024, eight anti-Israel protesters including two NYU faculty members were arrested by the New York City Police Department after blocking entrances to the library and refusing to leave. One of the faculty members arrested was Andrew Ross.
On December 12, 2024, the nyureview.com site reported that NYU chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) had posted on Instagram that morning a call to “block the entrances to Bobst on the last day of class.”
As a result of Luu's email to students, Adam Drisin, a member of the group "Mothers Against Campus Antisemitism," filed a Title VI complaint with the U.S. Department of Education.
LibertyAffair.com said the complaint accused Luu of "promoting personal political views at the expense of academic obligations and student rights."
