Sirine Habaili

Sirine Habaili was a lead drummer at the pro-Hamas encampment at UofT in May 2024. Habaili also led marches to the encampment, which was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. At these events, she participated in chants calling for Israel’s destruction and in support of terrorism.

On May 4, 2024, Habaili led a group called “Workers United for Palestine” that marched to the encampment.

On May 7, 2024, Habaili participated in another protest march to the encampment.

On May 11, 2024, Habaili led [00:01:40] a protest march in Toronto, titled: “76 YEARS OF NAKBA / RESISTANCE UNTIL RETURN,” where she played a drum while chanting: “Long live the intifada!”

Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.

The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.

The protesters marched to the U of T encampment, where Habaili continued drumming while chanting [00:00:08]: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!”

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!” is a chant used [00:02:52] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel.

On May 22, 2024, Habaili participated [00:00:09] in a protest at the encampment and played drums while protesters chanted [00:00:09]: “Disclose, divest, we will not stop, we will not rest!” and [00:00:19]: “…we won’t rest, till UofT divests…”

UofT is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
