For more information, see the CCNY SJP Chapter Profile.
WOL is an anti-Israel activist group in New York City founded by Nerdeen Kiswani. Until February 2018, it was known as the New York City branch of SJP, going by NYC SJP. WOL’s “Points of Unity” states: “We defend the right of Palestinians as colonized people to resist the zionist occupation by any means necessary.”
Zim is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of May 2023, Zim’s LinkedIn page said he had worked as an administrative assistant at Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Long Island City, New York since August 2021. Zim has also held an apprenticeship in investment operations at Year Up in New York, New York since April 2023.

September 17, 2021 - Supporting Terrorists at a WOL Protest
On September 17, 2021, Zim chanted [00:01:07]: “There is only one solution! Intifada, revolution!” at a WOL protest in Manhattan where WOL showed its support for six Palestinian terrorists who escaped from an Israeli prison earlier that month. The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
On September 6, 2021, six Palestinian prisoners escaped from the maximum-security Gilboa Prison in Israel. The escaped prisoners were convicted members of the terror organizations Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, who were jailed for their involvement in attacks carried out during the second intifada. All were recaptured by September 19, 2021, by Israeli authorities.
Also at the protest, Zim chanted [00:01:07]: “There is only one solution! Intifada revolution!” He held [00:01:56] a banner that said: “HONOR THE MARTYRS OF PALESTINE.” He wore a dark blue sweatshirt and held a Palestinian flag.
The WOL protest was organized to: “Globalize the Intifada / free all Palestinian prisoners…Defund the Settler nonprofits…honor the martyrs.” The protest was also in
“Globalize the Intifada” is an anti-Israel campaign launched by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) in the summer of 2021, intended as an “ongoing strike at the heart of empire [sic] with Palestine as its compass.” The movement seeks to “break free from the genocidal grip of U.S. imperialism and Zionism” and advocates “liberation by any means necessary.”
At the same event, protestors chanted [00:20:08]: “We don’t want no two state, we want all of it!”
The two-state solution envisions a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by dividing the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea into an Israeli Jewish state and a Palestinian Arab state.
June 15, 2021 - WOL Rally: “Emergency Rally for Palestine”
On June 15, 2021, Zim attended [00:54:56] an anti-Israel protest hosted by WOL titled: “Emergency Rally to Defend Palestine.” He could be seen standing [00:54:56] in the center of the video, wearing a black Abercrombie and Fitch t-shirt.A flyer for the event stated: “Stand with the call from Palestine against the zionist invasion on Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem.”
The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.
During the event, WOL co-founder Nerdeen Kiswani led [00:20:01] protestors in the chant: “There is only one solution! Intifada revolution!” while standing [00:16:24] outside of the Israeli consulate in New York City. Protestors also chanted [00:13:54] “From New York to Gaza, globalize the intifada!”
The call to globalize the intifada has been described as “the language of incitement.”
May 22, 2021 - WOL Rally: “Queens Rally for Palestine”
On May 22, 2021, Zim attended an anti-Israel protest hosted by WOL titled: “Queens Rally for Palestine.” Zim uploaded [slide 4] a video of himself onto Instagram at the protest chanting into a bullhorn. The rally was held one day after Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW) ended against Hamas.
In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.
Zim also commented on his post, writing: “You call me a hateful person while you’re the one throwing hateful comments. You support a ‘government’ that openly hates Arabs. All i’m doing is expressing my freedom, which every Palestinians living in the ‘occupied land’ should be able to do. But again you support a government that makes separate laws for separate people, openly announces death threats to innocent civilians, murders children and celebrates over their death. Can’t expect much from a person who supports genocide, terrorists, apartheid, occupation, and a fascist state!”
At the same protest, violent anti-Israel activist Saadah Masoud burned an Israeli flag. Other activists at the protest chanted [slide 2]: “Intifada! Intifada! Long Live the Intifada!” and [slide 3] “United Nations at what cost?! Will you stop this Holocaust?!”
Anti-Israel Activism (BDS, SJP)
In May 2021, Zim signed an anti-Israel statement created by CUNY4Palestine, a BDS activism organization. The statement was published by the anti-Israel website Mondoweiss. The statement was titled: “CUNY Community Statement of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” and it committed signatories to: “Initiate, support, and amplify campaigns in solidarity with Palestinian calls for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israeli apartheid…”
The statement called on “individual campuses, and CUNY as a whole, endorse and support the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel” and “Support community efforts and legislation to pressure our government to end funding for Israeli military aggression.”
The statement also said: “We condemn the forced removal of Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah” and “oppose the raiding of the al-Aqsa mosque…”
In May 2021, Palestinian violence erupted in anticipation of an Israel High Court ruling on eviction proceedings concerning over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
Incitement surrounding Al-Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah were leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at Israeli population centers from May 10 to 21, 2021. In response to rocket attacks from Gaza, Israel launched “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” striking military targets in the terrorist-controlled enclave.
The statement was published with a promotion for a BDS rally held at John Jay College on the same date titled: “CUNY MUST DIVEST! Rally and Press Conference for BDS.” At that protest, Kiswani said [00:02:08]: “We have to make sure that wherever there are zionists, they know that there will be people there to oppose their racist ideology.”
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
WOL
Within Our Lifetime (WOL) is a pro-terror activist group in New York City dedicated to Israel’s destruction within the lifetime of its members.Acts of violence and physical confrontations with police have frequently occurred at WOL protests and marches. WOL uses harassment campaigns to target pro-Israel organizations or companies that do business with Israel, making it a part of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Multiple activists who have either burned Israeli flags or led chants at WOL rallies were later jailed for violent anti-Semitic hate crimes, including Saadah Masoud and Waseem Awawdeh. In Masoud’s case, he received 18 months in jail for an anti-Semitic assault at an April 2022 WOL rally and two other anti-Semitic assaults in 2021.
WOL promotes “resistance” against Israel “by any means necessary,” calls to “Globalize the Intifada,” spreads incitement and idolizes [00:34:06] Palestinian terrorists like Leila Khaled and others at rallies and online events.
WOL was founded by Nerdeen Kiswani and Dan Cione in 2015. Kiswani is a frequent speaker at WOL rallies where she has promoted terrorism against Israelis and called for the death of Zionists. She has also provided support for Masoud and other activists following their arrests.
WOL began as the New York City chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), going by NYC SJP, but changed its name in 2018. The group is not found to be registered in any U.S. state as a nonprofit organization under its official name. Nor is there any listing for WOL under its name on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for tax-exempt organizations.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
