Sara Ryave
Sara Ryave was arrested at the anti-Israel encampment at Princeton University (Princeton) in April 2024. Ryave also spread hatred of Israel in May 2024.
The student group Princeton Israeli Apartheid Divest (PIAD) was a co-organizer of the encampment, which ran for three weeks. Activists demanded that Princeton divest from companies doing business in Israel.
The encampment was part of a national movement on college campuses in 2024, during Israel’s war against Hamas. The encampments were also in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
On April 30, 2024, PIAD said that Sara Ryave was arrested for defiant trespass when Ryave and 12 others occupied Princeton’s Clio Hall. According to the arrestees, criminal charges were filed. On July 7, 2025, in exchange for community service and a letter of apology, the judge dismissed the charges with prejudice and ordered Ryave's arrest record to be automatically expunged.
In April 2024, Sara Ryave was listed on the Princeton website as "an African American Studies Concentrator in class [sic] of 2024." Princeton is located in Princeton, New Jersey.
